How soon can you use a chiro after the THR opp?

I an 6 weeks down the line now, and I do need my regular lower back loosening up, especially after the surgery and sleeping on by back for 6 weeks.

thanks

why not contact your chiro and ask if they are happy to work on you?

I don’t know about the chiro but I can say I am tired of sleeping on my back! I am 4 weeks out and they did say that I could sleep on my side (even the operated side) with a pillow between my legs so that the hips stay parallel but I am hesitant to do that yet. Hope you get your answer.

ok

ok thanks

can empathise with that. i find it almost impossible to sleep on my back and physio said if i was comfy on my side then fine. Rolling over on to my non op side (luckily my chosen side anyway) is the hardest part but once there, bliss. Sleep. I do worry I may be a little premature having only had my op last week but I do need my sleep! Sometimes I use a pillow but not always. So far, so good. Go for it!

Six weeks today and last night I tried sleeping on my operated side a couple of times with the pillow between my legs. It felt good and a needed relief from always sleeping (or trying to!) on my back. The doctor and PT people said I could do this at 2 weeks but I was a little nervous to try it. It seems fine.

My physio said more or less chiros are never the answer. Is this a professional bias?

My doctor (GP) said the same. Personally I would trust my doctor and physio.
