How to believe the doctor

Hello, I noticed a swollen lymph node in my neck and behind my ear a while ago, and I have been to the doctor 4 times since then and he has checked them every time to calm me down because I just refused to believe him, I was diagnosed with hypochondria and it‘s so hard to ever get a second of peace because I feel like I always have to be prepared to be told I‘m dying. He has told me every time that it‘s not something to worry about, and I took blood tests that showed that I was missing some vitamins but I was expecting that as I‘m not really eating and barely leaving the house because I‘m so worried. I can also feel the lymph nodes in my armpits and groin, they are very small, probably 0.5 cm and he told me those are fine as well. I‘m 19 and I‘m seriously convinced I won‘t live past 25. Everything I read tells me I either have lymphoma or leukemia. I want to be able to just believe him and move on with my life but I‘m stuck on it, do you have any tips how to deal with this?

Hey

I’m the exact same at the moment I have a lump in my muscle on bot of neck that connects to right shoulder I always touch it cause I get bad shoulder pain! And convinced it’s come from there been to doctors about it and was advised nothing serious and have previously had X-ray on neck which didn’t show any thing I believe there just caused by stress and lack of sleep and diet! Which people with anxiety suffer a lot sad

I read a really good book that helped me with my health anxieties and I recommend it to everyone. It's called 'Help me I'm a hypochondriac' by Philip Martin's. He suffered from health anxiety and has come through the other side. It's jargon free and really relatable, helping you to see another perspective and empowers you to go I can get through this. If dr's are saying it's normal for you, give self help a try. Good luck x
