How To Cool Off At Night

Hi all here is a trick that we used to do in Durban years ago when it was a lot hotter and far more humid than it ever gets here, especially at night when there is no breeze, we used to put water in the bath up to and above the anckles, and sit on the edge of the bath, or do the same thing in a sink and put your hands into the cold water, easy with a bald nut to wipe the cold water all over my head and neck...Phew...it is hot here in Blackpool tonight, just going to bed at 3am, and going to take the Painkillers and 5mg Magic Little Blue Pill...with a pint of that new Robinsons Lemon+Mango squash, is awesome squash...

Totsiens all NN Poms.....  Ian.

Sounds like a plan Ian ... Hope you had a good night and pleasant dreams !!!!

Another ild South African trick - take a sheet and wet it. Spin dry so its just damp and sleep under it. It feels a bit yucky and clammy to start but guarantee you will have a goid nights sleep!

Thanks Ian,

Singapore... open up all the windows and doors and let the air circulate during the day and evening. Have a cool shower.   Fans are good, even if they are only used occasionally.  Air conditioning messes around with the consistency of the blood, better to avoid it on a long term basis.

However, this is the uk and it may be another 10 years before we have a repeat....

will try your tips though.

I close the curtains on the sunny side of the house in the morning and then open them and close the ones the other side in the afternoon. It does make quite a bit of difference.
