Hey all,
Before taking Sertraline, I was on Lexapro. I started to notice after about a week on Lexapro that I was waking up very early in the mornings (around 4-5am) and then having to try to get back to sleep for a few hours.
I then switched over to Sertraline and it's still happening to me, every night. I saw it advised in another post to perhaps change the time of day I'm taking it? I take it at 7pm everyday (I've not noticed it making me too sleepy).
If I change it to the morning time, how do I switch? I'm worried about taking it the next morning, and it hasn't been a full 24 hours between dosages?
Thank you!
My doctor had advised not taking night dose and waiting till morning when I switched. It did change my early morning wakes.good luck.
hi sam, i agree with christine that because you are starting out on a low dose (25mg-50mg), it will be fine to switch, and i have done that lots of times myself in the past with no hiccups, even small
so yep, i would also do it the way christine has suggested
by the way sam just to mention, please be aware that sleep disturbances such as waking too early as you have been doing, or sleeping more than usual etc, this is really very common when starting any ssri, and will often pass after a few weeks or so, so try to give your ssri some time to work rather than switch after a few weeks to something new.
try to give it at least a month if you can, but obviously if you are really suffering beyond being able to cope, of course go right away to see your doctor
