How to tell people about hsv?

I have not been diagnosed but I’m pretty sure I have it. How do you explain to people you are interested in that you have hsv? does anyone know from personal experience or how people generally react? I’m really just not sure how to talk about it with others especially since I’m not even sure that that’s what I have I just feel like it

I was in a relationship with my now husband when I was diagnosed so I have never had to tell a new partner but he was extremely supportive. We looked through information like transmission risks etc together and tried to understand it all, I became very depressed about it at the time but he reassured me.

It has never been an issue between us, obviously I can’t have sex while I have an outbreak but in between those times we have sex as normal and he never worries about catching anything (it could be that he gave it to me in the first place we don’t know due to the nature of the virus).

Why have you not got an official diagnosis? It might help so you can know for sure if you have it or not

What makes you think you have it?

Do you get genital sores? Are you itchy?

When you get another sore, go to the clinic within the first two days of it showing. They can do a culture to see if you have HSV1 or HSV2.

I had a risky exposure a few months ago and I guess I’ve been really upset and in denial about it. One month after it I got uncomfortable blisters on my thigh that I had never seen before. I haven’t gotten anything on my genitals this far but from what I can tell I have hsv. Like I said I have been in denial so I haven’t gotten any test done yet and I know that they will come out positive so I’m trying to figure out how to tell people. Especially since the person I contracted it from lied to me about using protection.
