Question about hpv vaccine guardasil . If I’ve gotten all 3 shots . Will this hell clear my hpv completely ? Does it make me less contagious? Also how long does it normally take for your body to clear you of the hpv? Please help Thank you !

Gardasil is most effective at preventing HPV infection. So if you are a virgin, then it should protect you from infection. But if you currently have genital warts caused by HPV 6 or 11 (the commonest varieties), the vaccine will enhance/boost your immunity and may help to clear the infection faster. I say ‘may’ because Gardasil is marketed as a preventive, not a therapeutic (treatment) vaccine. Nevertheless, there are many anecdotal reports suggesting that in can be used as part of a treatment strategy for patients with persistent HPV infection. -
How long does HPV infection usually take to clear?
If you are healthy and don’t have any underlying conditions such as HIV, diabetes, on steroids or other immunosuppressives etc then HPV causing genitals warts will clear after about 18 months or so. HPVs that are oncogenic (HPV-16, 18) are more persistent.

1.how contagious are you when there are no visible warts .
2.since there are no testing in men , how do you know when your clear and no longer infected ?
- Visible genital warts represent large concentrations of virus, so if you don’t have genital warts you are probably less infectious but I can’t give a figure.
- Time is a key factor, so if you are clear of visible warts for 12 months you can assume you’ve cleared the infection.
