HRT for older women

I am exhausted, have difficulty sleeeping, can't concentrate and have a poor memory. I am 58 years old and wonder if I should think about HRT. It is 10 years since I stopped having periods. Does anyone have experience of Tibolone? Any advice welcome! Thanks.

Ask you G.P to test you for an underactive thyroid. I was suffering dreadful exhaustion that was so bad I could not even sit upright. I was saying for a long while how tired I was so I asked for a Thryroid blood test and it came back that my thyroid had virtually packed up so now on thyroid replacement .This is a very common problem that is overlooked.

Thank you! I hadn't even considered thyroid. The exhaustion is so absolute it could be the answer. Thanks once again.

Hi totally agree get you thyroid checked and b12 levels as this can cause variety of problems

As for hrt on four week of hrt patches to help with my hormone problems so far so good but early stages to report massive change preferred patch option as slowly administers those lovely hormones into system

Would as your doctor to check your hormones blood level out

Also you said u period free now you may have developed some cyst on your ovaries if like me nothing to worry about when hormones change cyst appear your gp will send you for ultrasound

Keep in touch
