wil Hrt help I don't know what else to do and my sex life as gone so downhill😞
Hello patricia. You've come to the right place for advice and support. I'm a firm believer in HRT but many others prefer the natural route. Like you I had a hysterectomy and I felt just as you do. HRT was recommended and I took that option. It saved my marriage and my sanity.
If you fell your anxieties have not been helped by your antidepressants then maybe it would be a good idea to revisit your GP and ask if you can have a reassessment. Maybe another type would be of more help to you or maybe you could benefit from some cognative behavioural therapy. There are many options. If the first treatment or even the second or third treatment does not work, go back. The doctor can't help you if you do not ask for help. Maybe HRT will help but that will depend on your medical history which your doctor will know about. It is a terrible time to go through the menopause. I had a hysterectomy 8 years ago and it took me many years to settle things down. You say you were never offered HRT. Were your ovaries removed at the time. This makes a difference. If they were left you may not have needed HRT then but maybe now your hormone levels are depleting with age and it may be suitable now., There are complementary medicines that may help you but do your research first into these as they can be dangerous too. If you ever need to moan this is a brilliant place to do it. People here have unending patience and you will always find an ear. Good luck.
Thank you will give it a try after Xmas have.already tried livial but it didn't help think that just contains testosterone but had no effect
i have a knew doctor now as others had no sympathy so will see what they say
Hi girls i had hysterectomy 3 mths ago and my boobs hurt and under my arms is this normal do you no .
That could be hormonal julie. Have you still got your ovaries?
patricia it's worth noting something a gynaecologist told me. Even if your ovaries aren't removed when a woman has a hysterectomy the body adapts. That's to say because you have no uterus Mother Nature knows the ovaries are no longer needed so they start to "shut down".
Hi had a full hysterectomy on the 12th Sep
I still have my ovaries but don't know if that makes a difference going on HRT all I know is I can't feel any worse giving it a go.ive just finished work and feel absolutely drained but my mind is racing so I will have to have some alcohol or else il lay awake all night worrying.
i just want to feel normal again and be able to socialise and have a life.Hrt must be worth a try don't you think?
women who still have ovaries go on HRT without any problems. I know exactly how you feel patricia. Go and see your GP. You have several options. I have a friend who was prescribed HRT but also went down the natural route. When she'd been on her patches for 6 months she weaned herself off them and continued with her vitamins. She's coping really well. It's very difficult putting up with these symptoms when you have a busy stressful job. I found that. Make that GP appointment and discuss your options.
