I have had enough and yesterday I went to the Docs and wailed like an idiot that I just could not cope anymore!!! Knee problems, pain in hip bone, sleepless nights due to peeing so much, sore bladder, leaking, anxiety, rages....memory gone to sh*t, confusion, I could go on!!! I am now on HRT!!! I am praying it works becuase TBH I think if it doesn't I will go mad!!!!! Just not prepared to suffer anymore!!!! I will let you know how I go.XX
Oh poor you Margaret really hope the HRT works did the doc say how long before you noticed a difference and how long are you prepared to keep on it? I feel for you right now all this Easter rubbish drives you nuts. Keep in touch and us know how you get on.😊
I so sympathise with you. Sleepless nights, aches and pains, and worst of all the terrible anxiety, and the fear of the anxiety - a vicious circle.
I am going to the Dr as soon as possible - i.e. when Easter is over to also beg to be put o HRT.
Oh Margaret I know how you feel. I am mad I think I'm on hrt too just started. It's the anxiety and depression with me.
My whole life is in turmoil!!
I hope your Hrt helps, good luck and hugs x
Hi Carole
Is it anxiety with you too? I'm just floored by it!! I'm off work and jittery the whole time, every day!!
I'm beginning to think there is a serious issue in my life that I'm not facing up to, but told it's JUST the menopause!!!
Good luck and hugs x
Margaret:
Happy Easter?
I know what you mean. I also gave in and started HRT again. I could not live the way my body was dictating. Give yourself a few days and you will feel better.
Kathy
Sweet Margaret!
I do hope this works for you and if first round doesn't work, there are others they can give you to help you feel better. Sure know how frustrated you feel. This morning I woke up feeling ugh.......I've seen 90-100 yrs olds walk straighter than me for Pete's sakes, I'm so stiff and moods flying all over map. Memory?? haha-I sure miss that one!
Do keep us informed and I am hoping you're feeling better in no time flat!
Annie xx
Kathy
Let me know how you get on with Hrt just don't know whether to give it a try but I have had so trouble with hormones over the years just worried it might make things worse...having said that they can't be any worse really. Enjoy your Easter if you can.x
Margaret, I feel so bad for you, I know exactly how you feel, I am in pain almost every day, I dont take Ibuprofen unless its severe because I literally would be on pain meds all day. My collarbone is so sore I think its because thats where the nodule developed but I have back pain too, going to the bathroom all the time. I am to the point where you are with the HRTS, I started Evening Primrose on Saturday, so I am going to try doing the natural products with soy and black cohosh for a month or so if that does not work I am going to see about HRTS. Please let us know. I forgot to mention that the heat flahes are happening at least 5 times a day too.
I am so sorry to hear you are not feeling well I hope the HRT works for you. Just be careful about the side effects.
Just hang in there things will get better they always do
Hi Margaret
I so feel for you. I was in a very similar place a couple of months ago. I too sat in the surgery in floods of tears begging my GP to tell me I was going to get better. I've been on HRT for 6 weeks now and have a Mirena coil fitted. My biggest problem was the anxiety and panic attacks. I am so much better than I was. I still have the roller coaster of emotions, days when anxiety bubbles all day and days when I feel a little nauseous and have heartburn but nowhere near as bad as it was. I had my reservations about taking HRT but I think it's starting to give me my life back. I map my moods in a diary and I can see a definite pattern emerging which is quite reassuring. At least when I feel a bit desperate now I know it's only because my hormones are out of kilter and I will feel better in a few days. I'm now starting to go back to work and am feeling a lot more able. Don't get me wrong, some days are still really hard but I'm so much better than I was.
I really hope it works for you. Don't be put off by the scaremongers. If you do your research you'll see a lot of the scare stories were based around flawed research. Experts in the field are happy that prescribed properly the benefits far outweigh the risks.
Good luck and let me know how you get on

Miracle cure for me honey....!! Took it fir 8 years, weaned myself off....pills, patches, then cut the patches in half etc.....in my 60s and FINE now...it just got me over the " hump" and allowed my body to get used to the idea.....
You may have to try a couple to get the right combinations.....I noticed the effects within 10 days !!! Told my doctor I'd kill the person trying to take me off it and plead temporary insanity !!!!! Lol 😄
Good luck honey xx
Hi everyone.
4 years ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidisum put on thyroxine 25 mg also put on hrt, to cut a long story short I have never been good on either never felt any better in fact, I have thought about suicide numerous times, the constant sobbing panic anxiety racing heart every symptom of meno and every symptom of hashimotos, hormone hell for me 2 good weeks out of the month, had to come off hrt and gone onto sertraline 100mg daily, the last five ads didn't work and I told my gp this, but she said it would work, I am no gp so going along with it and starting CBT ? I have no stresses nothing to be depressed about, it's all hormonal that's caused all this ever since I had my first menstral cycle many moons ago, suffered for years now 51, got BPPV benign positional vertigo, 5 fibroids prolapse of womb, herpes zoster virus, lost 2 stone in 3 month teeth rotting, sweating, insomnia, palpatations, allergys, I am taking every vitamin under the sun, i will have to wait to see what helps, I keep asking my gp for hysterectomy I think it would solve some of the problems, but they keep saying no even though I have the five fibroids.
so frustrating, good luck at the GPS I hope you get what you want.
I should notice a difference in about 2 weeks and the plan is to review me in 3 months and stay on it for 2/3/years then wean myself off. I really hope it works.XXXX
Thank you everyone. I will let you know how I go. Really hoping.XXXX
Yes you really need to stick on it for a while just to see if it makes a difference. I wish you all the luck in the world. Bless you and take care.xx
Also thank you everyone for your comments and support. I hope you all had a good Easter. This is such a hard time for us all. I really hope that you all at least get some restful periods from this . In some ways I feel if my joints n bladder improve my anxiety will be better. I just can't stand those symptoms as they inhibit my life so much and they make me feel "old"....and I am not "old"!! Take care everyone.XXXX
Margaret
You have EVERYONE'S sympathy kid!!
I for one will be very interested to see how the HRT suits you, or otherwise.
I'm not currently taking it, but don't rule it out at all (lil' ol' mum had really bad bones: I don't wanna go through all her cr*p (3 hip replacement ops, all post-Meno) if HRT could help me!).
Not sure if you're in the UK? If so, I'm surprised they didn't thrust ADs/SSRIs at you and shove you out the door!! Seems they like to use these a lot for treating Peri/Meno symptoms. Even though a recent study found that the majority of women being prescribed them don't even meet the basic criteria for using them!!
I for one am really hoping these work for you. All 3 of my sisters used and loved it. Next one up from me (she's 62) has been taking it for 7yrs. Her 'silly' GP suggested she try weaning off it last year. Lets just say my red-faced, sweaty, ranting sister went back demanding her HRT back as she deserved a better quality of life - she's back on it and loving it!!!
Keep us posted Margaret. Onwards and Upwards aye!!

Hi lenie
I'd love to know how things are going for you too, because you and I sound like the mirror image of each other!
I don't like taking any meds, and have to be right up against it to even do the ibuprofen. Had to resort to a couple this month as my back was aching while I was bleeding (yeah, 54 and still bleeding as regular as clockwork!!).
Worse still was the pain in my aching L shoulder/ L elbow, collarbone, clicking jaw (and now R elbow!) returned and I feel like I've lost a foot in height as I stoop over until I feel brave enough to straighten myself up!
I'd love to know if you feel any benefit with the EP and BC. I'd definintely give them a go as I'm not currently taking HRT but will I'm sure as I think it'll help my long-term bone health.
Oh, ain't it great being an old hag - or is this just me?!!!!!
Sx
Yes, we do sound exactly alike, except I no longer have any periods, I had a hysterectomy back in 2001 and from hearing the horror stories with bleeding at least I am lucky there, yes, I am definetely one that does not like the pharamcuteical medications, I honestly think they are more like bandaids instead of permanent fixes, however, I realize they and doctors have a place. I woke up this morning feeling really good and I am doing the P.R. and I am going to take more of my homeopathic menopause herbs too. I wish I did not ache as much, I have all of the same spots as you, even developed a cyst or some sort of bump/lump on the collarbone. My dr. is against me doing the HRT because I am overweight, I am 55 pounds overweight. And, I think he is concerned about cancer risks, but I dont have a family history but still clearly it can happen even if you dont have family risks. Do you get pain in your shoulders like you have been punched in the arms/.
