HSV-1 and Oral Sex

Had HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec test with high number 54.10.

Had oral sex performed on me years ago. 

Is there a test to check for this virus on genitals.

No symptoms.

Yes if you have any bumps or blisters they can swab for culture

Without symptoms, the only advised test is IgG, but that does not indicate location. You most likely have HSV1 orally like most people with HSV1. Oral HSV1 can also be asymptomatic.

Blood testing cannot tell where herpes is in the body. Only local swabbing of sores can do that. I beg to differ that you most likely have it orally. Genital type 1 is on the rise.

And I beg to differ. Genital HSV1 is on the rise, true, but oral HSV1 is still by far the more dominant type of HSV1 infection.
