Can you get HSV 1 from somebody if they don’t have an outbreak? Can you get it on your genitals?

Yes and yes. Although HSV1 does not shed nearly as frequently as HSV2. It’s a lot less likely but still possible.

its very rare to pass it on to somebody when theyre not having an outbreak, but its not impossible there are still risks. yes you can get it on your genitals
