so i was told i have HSV1 genital if i have sex with someone will i pass it onto their genitals or only if we have oral? 

sorry if this is a stupid question ..

Assuming you have no outbreak and no prodrome at the time, the risk of transmitting gHSV1 to the genitals or mouth of a partner is low, as it typically sheds infrequently. In theory, you'd expect the mouth to be more vulnerable, though. Condoms are sufficient for intercourse.
