So I’ve posted on here a couple times about this. I was diagnosed with hsv1 genital about 2 months ago. Im looking for some feedback from somebody with hsv1 genitally or someone with a lot of knowledge about it. I havent had an outbreak since my first outbreak but I was also freaking out and requested to take suppresives daily. I havent been sexually active since bc Im so scared of telling anyone. My doctor told me bc its hsv1 and it isnt in its “preferred” location that I shed and will have outbreaks significantly less than i would with hsv2. She also told me that while taking suppresives daily the percent of me spreading it is slim close to 0. Ive been seeing someone new and am going crazy trying to think of how to tell him this. I want to believe my doctor that im not contagious but im still skeptical about it. If I stopped taking medication will I have another outbreak and is it really true that I cant spread this while taking medication ? The only reason Im handling this so well is bc I havent had any outbreaks since and that i was told i cant spread the disease while taking valtrex. If anyone has any answers or inputs it would be greatly appreciated. Everything online basically describes HSV1 orally or HSV2 genitally but close to nothing on hsv1 genitally
