Hubby doing really well....day 11..yaaaaah

Hello all you lovely hippies.  I thought I'd just update hubby's progress ( he is a complete technophobe and doesn't do internet etc! So I do it on his behalf).  He is walking quite long distances since Sunday and is finding it all ok, leaves him a bit stiff couple of hours later, but only to expected I assume. He has had no painkillers since Saturday, and is just taking the daily blood thinning injection, and as the swelling is going, he now has both ted back on.  He is also walking with just one crutch in the house. The only thing he complains about is that he feels like he is sitting on a huge lump and cannot get comfortable even though he is sitting on pillows, and a slight pain in the groin.

But all in all he is progressing wonderfully...when I think how he was a week ago today, I cannot believe the progress.

hope you are all having a lovely day and hope you don't have the awful rain and flooding that we have here on the south east coast.

much love to you all x

Hi Debbie, sounds like he is doing great, make sure he rests as much as walks that is very important, sitting on a huge lump will gradually go,he is doing really well with no pain killers, but he can always go back to them if he needs to,your obviously looking after him, what's his special treat because we all have them keep it going best wishes Michael.

Sounds like he is doing great if he is off the pain killers😄

i know now what he means about sitting on a lump. I am 10 weeks and that feeling is only just going. It's worse in the car because the seats have sides to them so I sit on a cushion!!  I still find myself rubbing my scar as I'm walking along,  it is still sore, but not painful. Does he rub the scar with anything?

Give him our best.

Carol😄Xx

I think his treat at the moment is having me put his ted on every day lol, he hasn't really got a treat at the moment, as he has very weirdly gone off chocolate and porridge since the op and he loves both of them....strange man lol........he is resting a lot Michael, however that is only because I am a nag, nag, nag

best wishes

Hi carol. He is having the dressing removed tomorrow as all but one stitch had dissolved last Friday, and we have been advised to use bio oil, so he will be using this as from tomorrow. Good to know the lump feeling will go in time,   Hope your scar gets better real soon

Hi Debbie

Mine isnt a technophobe but does not do groups or forums....wouldnt have the first idea so if anything happened to me and I had to go into hospital no way would he know where to start  MEN!!!!

Anyway glad to hear things are going well. My stitches had to be taken out but they only took about 2 thirds of them out then came back afew days later, checked and did the remaining ones

Hope you are doing well.......sometimes people forget the other half

Love

Eileen

Where you from?

good morning Debbie -

Oh dear ... what a great post ... give your self a pat on the back too okay ? I mean, i am sure that you are encouraging him and keeps him motivated as well tell him to rest etc ---

Ask the person who removes his staples about the lumpiness and if massaging the scar is helpful --

strange and unexpected muscles will make their presence known as healing progresses - he will be doing more etc -

big warm hug to you and husband
