I know my new hip is metal/polyethylene but I am still feeling achy and sore this morning. Put it down to the bad weather but it might be because I am using my crutch less and less and doing a bit more in the kitchen.
Hi I have been quite sore at the top of both of my legs, muscle pains, took 2 Tramiies last sleep time will take 2 this time too...first in ages...Hmmm, could be the wind....LOL...Ian.
The weather has been pretty bad here. Not as bad as North Wales . Cumbria and scotland though. Imagine 10" of rain in 24 hours that is crazy. The damp and cold are making me worse. I have been up most of the night.
Other 1/2 went out to the back garden to see what blew away in the night. Not much damage. But 4 houses in the village have lost tiles off the roof.
We have to get a new double glased window fitted because rain came through the frame in the lounge some how. But no real water damage..
It has deffinatly got colder here and is still raining but the wind has dropped a little. At least it is not howling which was the reason I couldn't sleep. Even the dogs didn't settle well last night because of the strange noises and the bangs going on outside.
I hope you and yours are all fine. Not much you can do about the ache with winter being here now. x
Yes I know I don;t sound scientific but Ithink the air pressure b eing low does have an effct on joints. Not surehow that works out mdically speaking but it does seem true in my case
I laughed when someone first said it was weather related...then my doc actally explained the baromic pressure . I think when its low the presdure on the outside of the body presses and pushes. .like squeezes. Dont quote me . I might have the explanation all wrong. But it is pressure related
t’s not your imagination; the weather can cloud your health. Here’s what research reveals about the connection between weather and arthritis pain.
Changes in temperature or barometric pressure, a measure that refers to the weight of the surrounding air, trigger joint pain, though researchers aren’t entirely sure why. In 2007, researchers at Tufts University in Boston reported that every 10-degree drop in temperature corresponded with an incremental increase in arthritis pain. Increasing barometric pressure was also a pain trigger in the Tufts study.
In fact, studies in cadavers have found that barometric pressure affects pressure inside the joints. In one experiment, when pressure in the hip joints was equated with atmospheric pressure, it threw the ball of the hip joint about one-third of an inch off track.
Hailea.....Awful luck....my legs are sore both sides...could be atmospherics, and strain for standing for longer periods, and also just the strain of getting better, as my back pains have all but gone too ....odd that we accumulate the products of our degeneration then grow back with regeneration....It is happening to me right now.... Ian.
i am not worried about the window. I have a mate who works where they make them so won't cost me anything. He will just come round tomorrow and fit it. Will only cost a case of beer so all s good
This was what I posted about a few weeks ago. I thought it might be the case that when it got colder someone might find they might ache or feel the cold.
Glad ad you are doing ok. I hope I can get sorted soon I am in so much pain it is worse than anything I have ever had to cope with before.
I had had to go to my pre op in a streacher because I can't walk and have nitrous oxide I case they hit any pot holes.
I have decided i am going to phone the ward tomorrow to see if they are taking hip replacements in or I am getting fobbed off. I think it is the only way to get to the truth.
Hope you are OK. I find the news from Paris vry upsetting. So sorryfor all the injured whose lives may never be he same again.
Hip is behaving quite well but I am finding life stressful in other ways.
I have been helping to pack china and glassware at my in-laws' house and that has been quite hard work for me. We have to clear their h ouse as they both passed away this year.
Anyway I think I need to move on to a stick as I am putting too much weight on my crutch, which is giving me aches and pains n my non-operated sde
Yes get on to a stick and move about ask the Physios for more info just to remember what they have said already, it helps to have a lesson now and then. Ian.
