My husband 83 has had a medical history that dialysis doctor says not a good candidate for needed hip surgery. He is on pain pills and waiting for injections to help with pain. Any good recliner recommended for comfort ? Advice of food to eat with pain killers? His stomach burning. Information on shots in hips for pain?
Hello linda. Is it the anti inflammatory tablets that affect his stomach? I take Naproxen and my GP also prescribes Omeprazole to protect the stomach lining. If you take anti inflammatories for a long period of time without the medication to protect the stomach you could get an ulcer.
I agree with Matron. If the stomached burning could be the sign of an ulcer due to the long use of anti inflammatories. He needs to see a doctor and do some exams to verify that. Sorry I cannot give any ideas for what he could eat perhaps very plain food avoid food that could make the problem worse like very condimentaded Very good luck
I suppose it's good practice to take the anti inflammatories during a meal. The shots you mention for the pain in his hips would be cortisone injections. I've had the injection in my shoulder twice. The first time it didn't help at all but my rheumatologist gave me another one in February and I'm still getting the benefit from it.
