Hi everyone...Just wanting to see if any of you experience this... It all started June 19...anyway, everyday I feel like I am in a state of hyperarousal. I just VERY easily startle...especially in the evenings, and over the smallest noises. For instance, like i will be researching on my phone and ill get a text that will ding and I will jump through my skin. Do you think this is part of menopause??? Its awful........
Hi Jill, I got very “jumpy” about 3 years ago. One night the fire detectors went off, just a battery issue... scared me to death...even after my husband reassured me everything was fine. I sat up for a couple of nights anticipating them going off again. They were newer, but I ended up getting them all replaced. I remember every little beep, or whatever would send me thinking the house was on fire!
So yeah, that was a top off things were changing for me!😊
Yes, I was very jumpy for a while. But it went away. My phone going off would send me to the ceiling.
Yes, I've noticed the same thing over the last year. I did attribute it to peri/meno hormone shifts. I'm told irritability is on the list and that certainly qualifies...startling easily is akin to being annoyed easily, in my eyes!
