Hi Everyone
Just wondered if anyone in addition to all the awful symptoms of a panic attack has also had high blood pressure? I went to my GP 2 weeks ago and my blood pressure is now high 164/90 all my life I have had textbook BP and so now this another thing to worry about My doctor will take it again next week and may have to have a monitor for 24 hours I just hope it was the anxiety and it will return to normal My day is going well so far it's the night I dread

164/90 is way too high you need to bring that down somehow, lose weight and change your eating habits, more water intake all day long, eat chicken, fish, no fried foods, eat fresh vegetables, yogarts, salads, etc low fat chocolate and low carb ice cream i lose 3 pounds a week on my atkins diet and lots of high protein shakes. good luck.
Thankyou so much for your kind support I am seeing both my psychiatrist and GP on we'd so will have my blood pressure tested again . I am 63 years go walking 3 times per week with three friends for an hour although only once per week at the moment because of the anxiety and feeling bad when I wake up at 5 am most mornings I have to drive my son to the station and see my daughter off to school My husband is away a lot working up to 5 days at a time . I weigh 63.5 kilos always eat home cooked wholesome food plenty of fruit and vegetables cereal for Breakfast with fruit and yoghurt salad or soup for lunch very rarely dessert so I am thinking that the high blood pressure is stress and anxiety related. Two weeks ago I had a wisdom tooth out under a general anaesthetic and I was so nervous that during my weight period pre operative they took my BP and it was up 169 /80 I actually had a panic attack but managed to calm down and at least had the tooth out My GP will take it again on we'd and if still high will put a 24 hour monitor on me I have always had great BP but I believe it can creep up with age but I am generally in good health exercise and not overweight so can only smile that it has skyrocketed with the return of the panic attacks after being panic free for 10 years I am really worried about it and I think this is fuelling my anxiety
Hi Deborah Thanks for your care and support I inadvertently sent the reply to myself but you can go to the Hypertension discussion and see the reply there
