i have been diagnosed. With an ear infection last week . Ear infection called vestibular neuritis causes vertigo and balance problems . Now i feel better after treatment with steroids. However now i am unable to fall asleep . I get these jerks just when i am about to fall asleep. I have experienced these jerrks earlier too but now it is very scary . Anybody else has these symptoms from anxiety ?
Hi kaykay, please try not to worry, these jerks before falling asleep are. Very, very common and many people ( including myself ) have. Experienced this very many times....it happens just as you are going to. Nod off... so please put your mind at rest, I hope that your ear is very......

Hi Kaykay, hypnic jerks are common when you have a disturbed sleep pattern or lack of sleep, they are harmless and once you settle back into a decent nights sleep they will go. N
