hypnotherapy for IBS

Hello,

I suffer badly from IBS C and have done for years. I've tried everything but Hypnotherapy. I wonder if anyone has ever tried it and what did it help?

Thank you.

I haven't but I presume it would help you to relax during an attack so it might not be as severe . I don't know whether it would work to stop it .

I took symprove and that worked for me. Amazing improvement.

My IBS is caused by stress and I have been having hypnotherapy. I have found that it helps me to relax.

Hi

may i ask what symprove is please??

It's a mix of good bacteria . It has a large amount of different ones that you don't see in the ones you buy in the shop . You take it each morning before eating . I was able to eat dairy without any effects which I hadn't been able to do in years.

Hello, I have also been thinking about hypnotherapy for my IBS-c as feel like I have tried everything else without much success. I have recently heard a lot about this symprove and am considering trying this. I am also shortly going to start the cleanse 9 programme which is a 9 day detox to help clense your system, it has been approved by doctors and after doing a lot of research it appears it has helped a lot of people who suffer with IBS. I am hoping it works. It is not one of those fad diets and includes aloe Vera drinks which are also meant to help with tummy problems. Have you tried any of these?

Hi  I have IBS on and off for 11 years now, have you tried Psyllium husks, you take for 20 days, then have a 5 day break, then restart, I take peppermint tablets 3 times a day after meal, and acidophilus tablet once a day its a probiotic, it takes ages to settle down, try to reduce stress, avoid wheat and cows milk at all costs, eat good food, fresh everything, also try to note what is really stressing you out, plenty of rest when its acute, walk regularly thats great, dr could perscripe membreverine tablets their ok, dont eat much red meat, always eat wholemeal bread and brown rice, dont drink coffee, try redbush tea, camomile is brill as is peppermint.  Hope this helps.

Hello Deborah,

Thank you for your reply. I have just seen it. We are all different and I don't tolerate Psyllium. My doctor gave me Spasmonal a couple of weeks ago and I've also started to reduce FODMAPS in my diet. Things are a lot better. I go every morning without laxatives which is a miracle in itself. I am quietly optimistic. Fibre is a problem for me. Thanks anyway.

Hi,

My gp prescribed Spasmonal which is supposed to relax the bowels muscles. It is new and specifically for people suffering from IBS. To tell you the truth, I have spent enough money over the years on probiotics, nutritionists, York test and the likes.

So I have started following the Fodmap diet loosely on the advice of the IBS network. Things are a lot better and I have not needed laxatives this past week, plus the bloating has gone.

What is this 9 day detox. Where did you find it? My daughter tried a 9 day detox with Aloe Vera juice as she is getting married. She couldn't last. I wonder if it's the same. It was quite expensive.

Whats FODMAPS,? Hypnotherapy didnt work for me.yours sounds worse than mine, I have managed to control my IBS in the past, but this years been very stressful, and it wont go, I ate curry last night, Im I paying for it today, at least it was one without cream, digestive system is very complicated, worse things than IBS in that region.  Its the right diet and reduce stress all the way for me.  Hope you improve.

Fodmaps are foods which ferment in the gut. Look it up on google. There's an useful app too. There's also an excellent website too. IBS network. It's full of advice and you can write to the gastro specialist there. Am sorry I didn't find it sooner. Good luck
