Hypothyroidism

hi everybody i have had a under active throid since march i have been told itis back to normal now but i have still got the bad muscle pains in my legs plus i am still very tired i am on 125 of levoxgine when i first started on them i was on 50mg can any one tell me how long should it take for the pains to get better any advice please

Although the blood levels might be back to normal, it will still take time for your body to recover from the deficiency and for the new dose to be fully effective in the cells again.

I would say you should expect a gradual improvement, but it took me a year to really feel 'normal' once I was on treatment. Good luck.

hi scriv thanks for you reply but i have been on the new dose about 5 months so do i need to wait for my legs a bit longer thanks annie

well the first thing is what are your levels for your TSH, T4,T3, when didyou have the last test you sound very similar to how i was a few months back i wrote about it in a blog if you goggle jack frost thyrod you should see it anyhow joint pains i found that mine were conected to havong a slight problem with water retension...to help i did alot of exercise in the swimming pool in the deep end this may help with the pain and as the pain goes the more you can do and so on...the best thing i can tell you is to find out all you can and then keep on at the doc to help you to get better...you need to know what your normal levels should be and find out what yours are....good luck
