Hysterectomy in two days

Wishing you all the best for tomorrow. Just think in 24 hours it'll all be over and done with and you can concentrate on getting better xx

Thank you I'm a nervous wreck now I just want it to be over in really really worried. Xx

We've all been there and it is totally normal to feel like this. Try and find something to do even if it's cleaning something to occupy you. Don't go to bed too early as you'll lay there worrying. You're going to be tired and sleep lots after. If you start to nod head off as more likely to fall asleep then. I plan things to take my mind off things like decorating a room and pick out things on the net I'd like to get. Weird I guess but it works for me when I'm stressed.

Wishing you all the very best tomorrow Ann Marie, you will be absolutely fine I'm sure, This time tomorrow it will all be over and you may very well be sitting up having a cup of tea. I will be thinking of you and willing all to go well.

Take care

Phoebe xx

There's no way you'll be ok within a week! You won't be walking properly in that short time. I ended up being off work 13 weeks and my tummy still gets right now and bloaty

The doctor can sign you off for minimum of 12 weeks and you can't drive for 6 weeks so one week is definately out

ur so young to go through that.... why are u having to have a radical .. good luck sweet xx

Ann Marie, I am 3 weeks post op TH except overies. Laparoscopic with vaginal assist. I was SOOO NERVOUS the night before and the morning of, but once I got in the hospital I was ok. Once in the surgery room I had a spinal block then the gas mask was put on and the next thing I knew I woke up in recovery. I did have a lil trouble waking up from what the nurses told me (surgery began at 11:20am and ended at 2:30pm, I finally woke up at 7:20pm 😳) The pain was minimal, actually the drugs they were giving me were sooo strong they made me feel worse. Finally the nurses just started giving me Motrin 600 and that's all I needed.

Once your home REST, REST, REST no matter how good you think you feel. Remember, you are healing from the inside, so REST!!

GOOD LUCK YOU WILL BE FINE. 🙏🏽

I hope everything went well x

i am having my surgery on february 3. i feel just like ann marie. i am scared scared scared of what i don't know. much of what i am reading here is encouraging and some is frightening. each person's recovery is unique. these lesions and belly swellings sound awful. ultimately, i'm doing this because i have no choice....and i believe truly that something wonderful has to come from it. feeling ann marie's fears and wishing her the best. by now she had her surgery. i wonder how it went. i hope she will see this.

Hi ann Marie. Thank you. I am going to take the rest of today off from thinking about this and put my tablet away. I wish you a pain free symptom free weekend. I've been talking about this all morning with friends here. Time to wash some dishes and take a swim. I will be in touch to see how you are doing. Take care. Virginia.

Did you have your surgery? How are you doing? Hope you are doing well.

Hi there, I had my surgery 3 weeks ago.Im doing really well now. have you reached a decision yet?

Ann

I don't know that I had much of a decision to make...but yes I am having surgery February 3, abdominal open surgery, everything out.

Hi there, good luck I have had same surgery, please keep in touch

Ann

Hello Anne Marie ,

i am also going to have a full hysterectomy in February 25, I'm am also feeling so afraid about everything. I have no option because I suffer from endometriosis and it's all spread on my pelvic floor including bowel , they actually warned me about possible perforations sad sad

its my first time in a hospital here in the uk as Ian from Portugal but I have been living for over a year now.

I have so many doubts about this operation, I feel so young for this but this will bring me a better quality of life. I hope it will work.

Can anyone tell me how long do we stay after the surgery?

Anne Marie I hope all goes well for as I wish for myself. 😊

Hi. I had hysterectomy and oophorectomy for endometriosis last year. You will be fine and not to be in any more pain is worth the other stuff. Hrt is a bit of a nuisance but you get used to it. Good luck
