Hi everyone, I hope you guys are well. Lately I have been struggling with anxiety and now I am afraid that I will not remember the meaning of words and will lost my ability to speak, just out of the blue. I have went to a neurologist and he told me that I don't even need to do an MRI scan as he thinks all is well, and I want to believe him. I just wanted to ask if this symptom has been with some of you during your anxiety/panic journey. Stay safe and well, I hope you will get better!
Robert yes anxiety can cause all sorts of weird symptoms most of which are temporary. When I am in my highest state of anxiety, sometimes words can sound weird to me and I have to second-guess myself. I might think of the name of a movie but then say to myself is it really that name? sounds weird. I think the main thing is to bring down the level of anxiety because when I do I don’t feel that way. I’ve had MRIs in the past and they don’t show anything related to memory or speech. maybe a CAT scan would but that is high radiation.
thats what is so frustrating about anxiety and stress. It produces symptoms that many times doctors can’t even find or don’t know the cause of. So I just have to assume it’s anxiety related. when my friends wife passed away, he was so stressed out that it affected his memory and scared him but all his test were normal and eventually everything went back to normal. Stress has a huge impact on every part of our body. so try to relax and take care of yourself. If you can get regular exercise and eat healthy. Try not to overthink anything. fear and worry don’t do a bit of good and they can hurt us physically. do you things that make you relax and smile and laugh! I wasted years of my life with fear and worry and I can’t get back one day. you’re gonna be OK!
