I am feeling depressed after needle prick

It's been 6 months give or take since I was pricked by a needle that was inside the handle of the fuel blazer at the bp in Rockhampton I've been with my husband for 9 years my test results are all negative but I still have symptoms of hiv I've been tested for Mirco plaza , hiv, gonarrhea, claymida , hepatitis a,b and C all negative the doctor thinks i could have endometriosis but it doesn't explain the rib pain I saw the general surgery person he wants to do a Tie die test were they put ink in my body and watchs how my gallbladder reacts because ive had diarrhoea for 6months now he said it could be ibs what other test should I undergo to resolve this situation what other specialists should I see I've also seen the gayne symptoms I've had currently pain during intercourse feeling sick all blurry vision lower back pain pain in the back of my ribs diarrhoea stomach pain etc

Oh my darling sad you poor thing what an awful thing to happen. Stress can do hideous things to the body. Don't worry about the diseases - for a start it's like 0.3 per cent likely to contract HIV from a needle stick that has HIV contaminated blood on it. (A specialist told me that because I suffer bad anxiety from similar fears) Secondly all of your tests have come back ok. Which is great. You can rest easy in that sense!! So extreme stress especially like what you have experienced can cause more than 100 different symptoms, one of the main ones being diarrhoea. Ibs, if you have that, can also be brought on by stress. Have you spoken to a counsellor?

Hey,

Do not worry please, stress can lead to those symptoms to your body.

the possibility for transferring HIV by needle stick is lower the 0.3%, and you did a lot of test since the accident and they all came back with NEGATIVE.

Therefore, please calm down and do not think anything with STDs, the more you think, the more "symptoms" you will find.

The best way for you now is going to see a sexual health adviser, she/he will explain everything to you and if necessary, go to see a therapist.

YOU ARE FINE!

PLEASE DO NOT WORRY.

Best,

Hugo
