Did they say why you had a heart attack?
your experts are your Dr's and nurses, ask them to explain.
I have found that they like you to take an interest, BUT you must also do as they ask, ie lose weight, follow instructions about what to eat and what not to eat, ask them for it in writing, as a verbal list is just not enough.
Follow instructions about exercises, if they say you are to walk a mile each and every day, you do it, but not the day after your heart attack obviously.
Can you get heart attack rehabilitation, my husband attended a hospital group for heart patients, lots of really good information, and exercises that were supervised by nurses, but I was shocked that some patients seemed to miss out on this rehab, maybe its because I asked about follow up.
I have also educated myself about husbands heart condition, library books for a start, and then following on from there DR to DR papers on the internet, from university sites rather than forum's, WE NOT NOT MEDICAL PEOPLE, just normal people who have had experiences like yourself.
My knowledge I have gained from reading has I believe saved my husbands life, knowing when to get him to the heart hospital in time, before he became critical, Dr's have said to me they would employ me if I had a nursing degree.
Best wishes for Xmas
