I am really worried , what should I do

Hi

I have a bartholin cyst since 2 years.. I have seen a doctor many times and took antibiotics they help in reducing pain but cyst is not totally gone .. I am really worried about it now as I am getting married soon there is a lot in my mind about what will happen to this cyst . I am really scared if the cyst increased in size after marriage. Size of the cyst is small but sometimes pain increased. I uses icebag to control the swelling it helped aswell. But cyst still remains. I have read comments about silica spray it helps in removing cyst. I wanted to know does this spray have any negative effect?

Dear rabi, silica doesn't have any negative effects, eather it works or it doesn't. No hurm in trying. But, there is something else you should try-sitz bath. Hot water, as hot as you can stand, then ad a cup of sea salt, half a cup of baking soda and 15 drops of lavander oil. The bathtub doesn't need to be full, you just need to submerge your hipps. You should do this at least twice a day for 15-30 minutes. It is a little tiresome to do every day, but it works, trust me. it might help you within days and sometimes it takes a month or two. Heat healps the duct of the cyst that closed to reopen and let the secretion out. You should start now while the cyst is small. The most important thing about bartholin cyst is patience and keeping your imune system in good condition. I have had this for three years and tried everithing! Sitz bath with very gentle massage will work, just be persistante.

I to go trough these cyst. If you treat them as soon as you notice a change in size you can save yourself alot of pain. I've read alot of many differnt remedies some make sense soon don't. I suggest HOT HOT sitzs baths. Try not using anything in the water just HOT soaks a few times a day, also HOT comprise to that area a few times a day as well. Try with nothing in the water at first then after at least a few days of doing this then you can put salt in the water as well.I myself only use HOT water. The goal is to reopen your original bartholin duct HEAT is your best friend we use heat for anything in our day to day lives and it always works,stains, clogs, drain etc...... Get the piont HEAT.... Everytime I think I'm feeling the swelling begin I get into the tub and start soaking with in a day or so it is gone. It mighttake yours alittle longer than a few days but please try, I really think it will help.. Good Luck.. Oh yeah make sure your underwear are always loose never tight. Be aware of down there underwear help this problem go on, when you can be free and always keep area clean..

I have done sitz bath bt not regularly, it helps in relieving pain bt the size remains the same . I think I need to do it with patience for better result . Thank u Cindy. Hope this remedy will help me too.. one more thing I need to ask that if I waxed that area , it's nt good for cyst right ?

I persoanally wouldn't wax. I would be to worried about it getting swollen down there from the hair pulling. I waited until I felt the cyst was basically gone before I even shaved. This is very life changing but it doesn't stop life. Glad that you are taking the HOT sitz bath, keep doing it also massage the area while your in the heat it will help drianage. These things will help just takes time.. good luck

Dear Cindy, could you tell me how long have you had the cyst problems and how long did you take sitz baths before it want away? What size was it?

Well  I had first notice it 8/2014. Went to the ER got a "word catherter" put in, they put it in wrong. Two days later got it removed, then it got infected went to the GYN. Got another catherter put in, it was suppose to stay in 4 weeks did't work out it fell out 6-7 days later. Every since then I just sit in the tub every now and then. At that time I was doing th sitz 3x a day, also HOT clothes on that area 3x a day too. I did this for at least 3 weeks, Like I said I still sit in the tub every now and then, since the bartholin gland duct got blocked I'm trying to keep it open.. It was at least the size of a walnut, horrible!!!! But as of now THANK GOD I'm doing ok, and keeping a positive mind.. Good Luck..

Hello rabi68755... Yes itis gone, but every now and then if i go dry during sex a little then it might swell a little so I jump back in the tub to help make sure there will be no blockage and take a night to just relax. This seems to work for me I still think the HEAT is the best...

Yes that is correct.. Heat is the best for anything, even to unclog a blocked bartholin gland duct.. You figure if the duct is clogged it is only clogged with some kind of fluid so soaking in hot fluid should only help to unclog.. Hope this is helping  you..

I wana ask that how long will it take for a cyst to come back after having sex. I have never had sex before still Virgin.. so I was wondering that if I had it even once will it get swell?

Hey ladies-ok so, I began having the cyst about 3 years ago...the first one I had was lanced at the ER, then about 6 months later it recurred, and again I went to the ER where is was again lanced. Then about 6 months later, I thought it was happening again, and was able to see my GYN, who suggested marsupialization, which was done the next day at an outpatient surgical office. Unfortunately, about a year later, and just like every other time it happened, RIGHT AFTER my husband and I had sex, it happened again! I immediately called my GYN office, and explained that it was happening again....and the nurse was convinced that there was NO WAY I was having a recurrence after marsupialization, but as I insisted I wasn't crazy and that I wanted an appointment, she gave me an appointment for the next day. When I spread my legs and let the GYN and her nurse see it, my GYN said she could not believe it had returned but that it definitely was back! My GYN sent me to a specialist (GYN surgeon), that same day, and the very next day I was in surgery to remove the entire gland and duct. The area where the gland sits is surrounded by a lot of blood vessels and bleeding can be a serious concern so I was actually kept over night and into the next day, which was also nice bc they gave me PLENTY of IV pain medication (morphine) my surgery was a little over a year ago and until today had been THE SOLUTION. My husband and I were intimate last night, I woke up today with some discomfort and by the end of the work day, I am having pain, and while I thought that once the gland and duct were removed (GONE) the problem would not come back...now I am so confused. I do have an appointment with the surgeon (whose office staff acted like I must be crazy when I called today) I have an appointment tomorrow....so here are my questions: can this damn gland grow back? Regenerate? Or did my surgeon miss a piece and now it is inflammed again?

I'm really sorry for yall having to go through this...my tips:

-if you get a bartholin gland cyst, see your GYN immediately and INSIST on complete removal of the gland and duct. I swear it is worse to have to have it lanced, drained, catheterized, etc over and over and over

-the ER is only going to lance, drain etc it and is really only good for pain medication but if you can get to your GYN they will be able to help you just as much as the ER-in other words the ER is good for short term

-sitz baths are helpful for pain relief and yes some of the fluid will come out but you really need to see a doctor or else you will end up with an infection

-DO NOT MASH ON IT! And DO NOT TRY TO POP IT YOURSELF, especially with any kind of needle that is not sterile

Hot sitz bath every single day 2-3 times a day is what I did for 4 weeks and my cyst decreased in size and eventually disappeared. You have to be very patient with these things and in my experience, cutting them etc. will make them come back always.

I added the following in my bath:

1 cup regular salt

1 TBSP Himalayan salt

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

7 drops of 100% tea tree oil

I did this at least 2 times a day for 4 weeks. Patience is the key.
