I have been prescribed Estradiol 2 MG and Spironolactone. Spironolactone is causing issues due to the "Potassium" risk it has on my health, I am needing a better Anti-Androgen to Block Testosterone. Please some one can you recommend some of the best Anti-Androgens that are available in the U.S my Doctor told me if I can find better alternatives that work as or more effective than Spirono he will glady cover them! please help me!
No help to you because I am in Australia and am allowed to use Cyproterone (Androcur). I believe it is not allowed in the US which is strange given that the US allows a lot of things that we are not. I am female but for decades I have been troubled with symptoms caused by testosterone and I have not been game to stop taking the Cyproterone. It does have a form of progesterone in it which if I take that separately, interferes badly with my oestrogen therapy and causes it to be ineffective. But in Cyproterone it does not. I don’t need progesterone having had a hysterectomy.
I remember that there was a third anti-androgen but I cannot currently find it. I have googled ‘anti-androgens’ but it has not jumped out at me. Perhaps you will have better luck.
