I am soooo confused now

After reading some responses on here I am confused. I went to a clinic on Monday and was told I have HV. A swab was taken and I am waiting on the results. However I have not and do not experience the pain that everyone says they have. No problems going to the bathroom or anything. I was given medicine and have been taking it. I am a little comfused. Should I get a second opinion?

You can have herpes and not have any of the symptoms. Its a hit or miss thing. Do you currently have an outbreak?

I didn't have any of the symptoms either let me say that

When you experience an outbreak you will know ..

You normally don't have any pain while peeing because you don't have any bumps , or skin peeling .. But when it does happen it will be one of the worst pains you will ever go through .

I can say I have 3 bumps...they hurt and itch a little but it is not bothersome. But reading how everyone is describing their outbreaks it is nothing like that

Maybe it will worsen not trying to jinx to but this may just be the beginning of things ..

I guess you can say it differs for everyone .

What made them diagnose you with herpes? Like how did it all come about ?

Did you question/ ask your previous sex partners about it ??

How were you tested and diagnosed? This is important. As for symptoms, they can vary immensely. Some have all the classic symptoms, others have next to none, and some don't even know they have it.

I went to a STD clinic. The person I was with is clean that is why this is so puzzling. I have read that people have been misdiagnosed.

True. I guess I am wondering if you can have an outbreak and have no symptoms. From what I am reading a person knows when they are having an outbreak or is it possible not to know that you are having an outbreak. The testing was a swab bit have not gotten results back yet

So, that means it's only a visual diagnosis at this point. I wouldn't assume anything until you get the results. An outbreak always has symptoms, otherwise it's not an outbreak. However, the symptoms can be very mild and easily mistaken for something else, or possibly even overlooked.

At the beginning mine didn't hurt either. It didn't start getting bothersome until they opened up and started healing

It could be a yeast infection. For many years I had a location that would get a yeast infection that looked just like herpes. Doctor always said it was herpes but took a skin sample and it always came back negative.

Wait for the results. Don't assume a visual diagnosis is accurate.
