I am terrified about having throat cancer? Can someone help

I've been having sore throat for like 20+ days right now. I am a 20 y.o white european male, the doctor checked my throat and he said that it was red so he prescribed cefalexin (antibiotics) I am a muslim and fasting this month, so I took the antibiotics at 8:20 pm and 3 am and I was told that they were not effective and I decided to quit taking them, halfway through the therapy. I tried drinking hot teas (camomille) mostly and took vitamin C pills and went back to the doctor and he saw lots of improvements (according to him) cause my throat felt even worse if anything although the little fever that I had started to go away. And my wbc levels were fallen as well but my throat still feels bad and I am fearing throat cancer now. If I had throat cancer would the doctor detect it? Or at least send me for more tests? He only checked my throat with a white light.. should I go back tomorrow and ask him whether I have throat cancer? I have a bad reputation of being a very bad hypochondriac as I have feared so many cancers and other life threatening diseases for years now and all the tests coming back to only show that I had none of those that I feared?

Please relax.  If the doctor thought that you needed more tests, he/she would have ordered them.  Sore throats are very common and usually due to a virus or bacteria, not cancer. Cancer usually occurs in people who are heavy smokers over many years!

And even they don’t always get cancer.

Doctors know what throat cancer looks like, so don’t worry.

If calling would give you peace of mind, then do that.
