I’m experiencing a somewhat similar tear and I’m not sure what to do exactly
Mine is below the vulva so I’ve been applying a tiny bit of Aquaphor after I wash the area but I hope you get some advice/relief!
Hi camilla,
I presume they took a swab for herpes? That will help to confirm their suspicions.
Referring to the photo taken 4th July- there is a small superficial ulcer (?) on the right vulva, just below your finger. Was this from scratching or something else? I ask because this can’t be from rough sex.

weirdly enough that is nothing. not a lump or ulcer or pimple I think. the camera flash picked it up because I can’t see it in the mirror. do it might be discoloration. I specifically looked for it after I saw the picture.
yes they swabbed me.
OK- just have to wait for the result.
it’s herpes 2 I just had a break down in the doctors office. bye to future love and family for me.
Relax, it’s not that bad..herpes symptoms come and go, at least it wasn’t HPV (that can lead to cervical cancer or oral cancer).
Hi camilla,
Sorry to hear that herpes has been confirmed. You will get over this in time. About 30% of people in their 20-30s carry HSV-2, many without knowing they have the infection. So there is a fair chance you’ll meet someone already infected at some point in the future. And if 30% of women carry herpes, it follows that a similar proportion will be carrying the infection during their pregnancy as well. Very few of these women (probably <2%) will encounter a serious problem such as neonatal herpes and if you alert your midwife/obstetrician that you’ve had herpes in the past they may offer you prophylactic aciclovir in the last weeks of pregnancy to ensure the baby doesn’t come to harm.
Stay positive, it’s quite common, good treatment is readily available and as your immunity to herpes develops you will experience fewer outbreaks.
