I did google again, could it be throat cancer or Lemierre's syndrome

Okay I made an earlier post about breathlessness. But my agitation led me to google and now I worry about having these two medical conditions. I know its silly of me but I look at the back of my throat and I have these red veins that are like tree roots. That and my anxiety lump is bothering me because its so constant. I'm just a mess right now with stress and not sure what to do. Side note, I have previous experience of acid reflux and I'm diagnosed with generalized anxiety and panic disorder.

ok The first thing you have to do when your mind goes to the negative, is fact check.

  1. you have anxiety which creates negative scary thoughts that are not based on fact.
  2. everyone has blood vessels in their throat. The acid reflux could irritate them and cause them to look a little red.
3.you are in good general health, I am assuming.
The next thing to do is stop googling! Those conditions have nothing to do with your individual situation. You could look up 1 million conditions and none of them could pertain to you. Your mind is overthinking. Start with the most reasonable explanation .
for your peace of mind just have your doctor look down your throat. It’s that simple.
i also have anxiety and I know the negative thoughts but now I have a much better control over them because I do the fact checking and I stay off the Internet. 99% of everything we worry about does not happen. I worried for many years about getting some terrible condition and it never happened. I wasted all those years with fear taking me over. I truly regret that! I can’t get any of those days back . Please don’t do that to yourself. Stay busy and active and get your yearly check up.
Enjoy your life it goes by so fast!

Are you over 60 and a lifelong cigar smoker? If not, it is unlikely it is throat cancer. I’d never heard of Lemierre’s syndrome, but apparently it is quite rare. I suspect it is anxiety and acid reflux. Google can make you scared witless when you type in symptoms.

I’m 21, never did smokes. Thanks for replying, it helps.

I’m pretty confident it is just anxiety which is making your symptoms worse so you get even more anxious, and so on. It’s a vicious circle.
