Evening everyone....it will be 6 weeks tomorrow since my Revision TKR and at Physio today I managed the magical 90 degree bend!! I also managed zero degrees extension, and 2 km on the static bike! The physio actually made a point Of saying how well I'm doing, which was well-needed boost! Hope everyone is having a good day.
Congratulations, Terri!! Zero degree extension is phenomenal!!! I'm so jealous. Keep up the good work.
Well done Terri ,for you the applause is deafening. And rightly so,because after all you've been through you deserve it all.
carry on,best wishes
Mike
Yahoo! ! Congrats!!
BRILLIANT Terri:-)))))) I've heard how hard the revision can be, so delighted for you!:-))))) It is so encouraging, isn't it. There is something so rewarding about meeting targets and reaching milestones. I've been excited over so many little things since I had my TKR - like cutting my toenails LOL! I never did manage to get the compression socks on, on my own though - have dumped them now (well, kept them for the next knee) but don't know how anyone managed to get those on themselves. My husband was invaluable for that!
Haha I managed to cut my toenails last night as well, I'm just showing off now πππ You're absolutely right though, especially in the early days, those milestones are hugely important xx
LOL! It really is funny, isn't it:-)))) But I think we need to grab ALL these milestones to boost us:-))))) Every step forward is positive, to make the most of:-))))) Today it's ironing the bedding LOL! That's not been ironed for a few weeks (it was washed though LOL!) but I quite like doing it and now I CAN do it:-))))
Congratulations Terriπ That is quite an accomplishment! I was happy when I could finally stand and not have to sit while doing my hair and putting on my make-up. We take so many things we normally do for granted. Keep up the good work!
And when you suddenly realise that you're standing up to put your jeans on LOL!
Great! I have a question, as of yesterday it has been a year on my first knee, 7 on the other. The one that has been a year is giving me issues. A couple months ago I starting with pain behind my knee on the left side, painful, could hardly walk, felt like a painful spasm, that went away The about 6 weeks ago it started in the front of the knee mostly the bottom of the knee cap, just say the front of my knee. Painful when I stand, not too bad when I walk, hurts to straighten, a little to bend, just sore all over. I am over weight, losing now. Was overweight whe had the replacements. Just wondering if you had anything like this? At the moment I have been having other issues with my health, after those things are stable I will go back to my surgeon. Thank u Sandy
I think I'd be asking for the surgeon to check this Sandy. When something has apparently healed and then starts giving problems then maybe it needs to be checked as soon as you can. I see you said you're having other health issues but can you fit in a visit to get this checked. I'd want to, if it were me. If you really can't get back yet, then I'd try ice and elevation as much as you can for a couple of weeks, just to see if that helps, and maybe an anti inflammatory ointment? That wouldn't hurt, but I'd still get it checked asap if it were me. I hope everything comes together for you and you can relax then.
Well done Terri, such a shame you had to go through it all again! Still the end result is good so power to your elbow, you did it!
Sorry I didn't reply sooner, just got a whole load of emails yesterday & am wading through them all!!
Well done!
