I Feel Like I Am Dying. Help

Hello,

I'm so scared. I deep down know I'm not, but I feel like I'm dying. My whole body feels numb, tingly and my heart is RACING. I also feel a bit tremory/shaky. It's 3 am where I am at. I mean my whole body feels numb, hard to explain.  Also feel sick to my stomach - a little like im going to vomit. I'm terrified. I need re assurance. Should I go to the hospital or is it anxiety? also my hand feel like they are being shocked/ feel tingly. Legs also feel weak and numb. I'm just

thanks,

-W

Hi Whitney

I think it is purely anxiety and possibly panic. You will be ok. Your symptoms feel like an emergency but they will pass. Its a horrible feeling but just ride the wave and wait for it to ease before you go to A and E. Keep writing to us and we will talk you through the worst of it. Hugs xxx

it sounds like a panic attack .you can try some small things then your bad feelings will remove.writing down your feelings can be helpful.meditation.repeating some positive sentences.sth that can distract you in that that moment.you can tell ur mind its just a panic attack and after some min it will go away.good luck to you.

I'm on fluoxetine and I have pills for anxiety whenever I need them (hydroxyzine). I took one of those last night and it heloed. I get blurry vision too and slurred speech. I'm sorry you go through this too. It is scary. Thanks for replying

Thanks for your reply. I took a pill and was able to finally fall asleep. Thanks for the encouragement and reassurance. It was definitely a panic attack. I used to get them often but I hadn't had one that bad in awhile, so it felt super scary. The symptoms did pass as you said.

I get this too, being jolted falling asleep, it's called hypnic jerk I think, waking up shaking (not visible) with unexplained fear feeling, feel sick to the stomach, legs feels weak... well you're having a panic attack but not full blown because a full blown attack will not just give you a racing heart but also pounding heart beats, feel like choking or skip breathing, tightness of chest and feeling of about to passout.

when this happens try hard to stay calm, walk it out while taking deep and slow breathing, this is what I do, oh and try to tell and accept that it's just a panic attack, it won't kill you and it will pass.

These symptoms are surely linked with anxiety but to get the best assurance that nothing is wrong you must go to a docter. He'll run some tests and will confirm and explain you about anxiety. Then there are a no. Of ways to overcome anxiety.  But the best advice you are seeking will come from a docter.

Hi sry I haven't been active for more than a year but b4 I can make a comment abt your sympthoms, have you already taken a full medical check up?

Hi sry to tell you but honestly there's no getting out of it, there are ways to control and supressed it but I advice you not to depend on drugs.

Whitney, when you can look up on YouTube detachment from overthinking meditation. If you have earbuds or headphones put them on, lie down and get comfortable. Listen to the  meditation. It really calms you way down and teaches you how to separate the negative thinking from yourself and gets rid of the anxiety. There are many other audio meditations you can choose from an anxiety,  negative thinking, depression etc. They really help me a lot when I was panicking!

I had all the symptoms you have and have finally learned how to control them. I know how Miserable it can feel! I'm sorry you have to go through this but there are ways to control it.

if you're really struggling with control, I highly advise speaking with the counselor. They see this every single day and have the tools to help you. It also helps to vent to someone else. I keep going even when I start to feel better because it's like a lifeline for me.

remember one thing… Anxiety symptoms cannot hurt you or kill you! They feel awful but they are harmless. I hope you feel better soon

Hi iv never wrote on one of theses before but I don't know what's wrong I'm panicing. I was watching TV and suddenly my hole body is numb and tingles and I find it hard to pick things up as I can't feel anything what could this be???

I experience panic attacks too. I have them when I am watching tv or with no reason. I try to stay calm allow it to pass. Sometimes I feel like I have to go to ER.

I struggle with it daily. I cry every time I experience a panic attack.

I find it hard some days to deal with it. It is such a struggle for me. I did not have anxiety or panic attacks before.

I want it to stop

Hey whitney I just had the same thing happen to me. It's the second time it's happened and I remember the first time I sat straight up and felt like my heart had stopped. My arms were tingly too. The second time happened just now and my whole body felt as though it had lost circulation for a moment. It's reassuring to know that this might just be anxiety because my life has become more stressful recently. I'm going to see a doctor tomorrow.
