I feel like I'm dying

I have a severe general anxiety disorder, so I'm not sure if this is some new symptom, but lately I've been feeling super light headed and dizzy for extended periods of time, along with changes in tempature. I'm really not sure how to fully discribe it, I've never felt anything like it before but when I lay down or close my eyes it feels like the world and spinning and it feels like my insides are boiling but my skin is cold from the air. I would usually just pass it off as anxiety but it gets worse if I move and opening my window doesn't help with the heat, I just start to feel cold but also hot at the same time. I know I'm not dying, but it feels like I am. I'm not sure how else to explain it. Does anybody have any ideas of what it could be? Is it probably just anxiety? Should I see a doctor?

You need to get a doctor exam first so you can rule out any thyroid changes or illness. Then if that comes back normal id say its panic attacks.

It really sounds like you anxiety.  I have felt these symptons.  During high states of anxiety my limbs, usually hands and feet get cold.  This is the bodies natural reaction to "fight or flight" symptoms of anxiety.  See to use an analogy.  When we were cave people, and came across saber tooth tigers.  Our fight or flight mode kicked in.  Our ancestors had to stand and fight what they fear, or run from the danger.  Well, we still have this mode of thinking, it tends to come up during stressful times.  I do believe that we are genetically prone to have "anxiety/depression" genes passed on to us from our family.  I truely believe it is your anxiety.  Are you seeking professional help, mental health counseling?

I do agree with getting thyroid checked.  But alrin17 mentioned that they have GAD.  So if most likely anxiety.  Needs to seek mental health if not doing so.  I recommend in the mean while find ways to relax, guided meditation is great!  Positive self talk is helpful "This is my anxiety, I know it is. I accept that there is no real danger.  I accept that this anxiety, causing me to think the worst is happening to me, which is not real."  Our imaginations are very powerful, consider that.  Find ways to distract you mind into positive things.  Consider the good things you did through out the day.  I said "hi' to my friend today, we talked about good things, etc.  When your mind wants to wonder back to anxiety thinking.  Don't fight the anxiety thoughts, just acknowledge that they are there and refocus on good things through out the day.

I've been getting really lightheaded and dizzy lately as well. I also get this sensation that my head is rocking back and forth when I'm actually perfectly still. Same when I'm lying down- I'll feel like the world is spinning around me. It's so horrible and makes me think I have a brain tumor 24/7. I also get really heavy eyes and I get really nauseous. It's so scary. I hope you feel relief soon!

I feel the same way. I dont know how to make it better. Memory is playing bad tricks on me too...

I get that myself. Horible. Changed my dit that did help. Started excersiing oddly that helped, but still happens at times.i chalked it o to menapause and i have optic nerve pallor but i really have no clue. So many people seem to get that. Its very common. Can be medicine related, hormone related, bp related, sinus related, ear related or eye related..or hyperventilating which leads to anxiety related. Ginger helps a lot. Eat it from oickled ginger, boil it in tea, juice it in a green juice. But ginger is very useful.

Do you ever get really bad sinus pressure/eye pressure? I'm quite young but I feel as if something terrible could be wrong with my brain. I think I'm constantly getting sinus infections and it's horrible uncomfortable pressure. I'll have to try that ginger though.

yeah i do I drink ginger ale it helps. do u still have the derealization?

I also get really bad sinus pressure, above my eyes and on the sides of my head, where the jaw is...

It is definitely anxiety.. just trust that it will go away.. it did for me...

I hope you feel better!

Yes. As of now, I barely sleep and when I wake up, I have this overall state of just pure anxiety and panic and it makes me freak out. Lack of sleep makes the derealization feel 100x's worst for me. I'll walk around my house feeling like I'm actually not there or that I'm not myself. I felt better for a couple days but as soon as I stayed up 24+ hours, the derealization swung by again. What about you? Are you still experiencing it?

im so sorry and yes its still here and its freaking me out i hate it so much i just wanna feel normal again

All of us with find relief someday. I'm hoping for all of us that day is soon. Positive vibes your way!

Hyperventalating. It is not like in the moves where you pant or gasp. You are not properly breathing. The oxygen levels go awry and thats what happens. Shallo breathing, fast breathing or tight breathing will all cause that. Learn mindful techniques on proper breathing. Belly breathing. Practice proper breathing constantly until it becomes automaic and it will but be patient.
