I am 22 days post op and feel really light headed. On a couple of occasions today I have felt dizzy and had to sit still for a few minutes until it passed. Anyone else had anything similar?
thanks

I hope your not doing to much. I had to be reminded MANY times, that I just had major surgery. I went back to work in 8 days but my surgery was done vagionally. Take it easy and remember you just had major surgery
Sometimes I believe (i did have a few) dizzy spells and being lightheaded is our body telling us to slow down too.
hi there, I felt like this the day after my surgery. It turned out I was low in iron as I had lost a lot from the myomectomy. Have you had your haemoglobin/iron checked.
Hi Erin.
Thanks for that. I think you might be right as I have been going about the house doing bits and pieces. I will mention it to,doc when I see her next week.

Hi
I have been anaemic for most of the last year so I did think that.
I got my bloods taken before I left hospital as I lost a lot of blood in theatre. I might need another check up.
Thanks
lee x
yeah same here, hospital sent me home with iron pills and laxatives as the iron make you constipated. Try not to do to much, i know how hard it is, i am 7 weeks on and getting back to normal so it just takes time. Take it easy. x
Hi Lee
Its me again, i had my op 2 days after you. Funny you should say this as i have attempted to go out twice this week and both times i went very queasy in the head, giddy feeling and i had to sit down. I thought it was because it was my first outings but if you're having them too i wonder whats causing it? It seems like i can't walk far and then i get this weird feeling take over me. Hope your feeling a bit better now, i'm ok around the house but as soon as i try to go somewhere i'm no good!
Thank you.
My bloods in the hospital tested ok.
I will see how I feel over the weekend

It's strange isn't it.
I have just felt like that today.
I am not drinking as much as I was when I first came out of hospital so I am wondering if that could be the cause. I will drink more and see if I feel better over weekend.
It's a horrible sensation isn't it

Hi Lee
You might still be suffering the effects of the anesthetic, sometimes it takes a while to get out of your system. Also are you eating enough protein? You need to build your body up, we lose quite a bit of blood in a hysterectomy and you need lots of protein to build up the iron and nutrition lost. Always wiggle your toes and pump your feet up and down before getting up, and get up slowly, this allows the blood to reach everywhere before you stand up.
Hope this helps.
Love
Jacqui
It is Lee, i ve been drinking plenty so don't understand why i get this sensation.
I can see why they say its a slow recovery, one thing after another
Have a good weekend x
(My names Gail)
Hi Jacqui.
Thank you for your advice. I think you are right as I do not have a very good appetite and also my drinking has not been great. I am going to have to watch that. I lost more blood in theatre than I should have so maybe taking some time to get my strength back. Especially being anaemic for most of my life. Hopefully things will settle down over the weekend.
Love to you, Ian and not forgetting Rosie.
Lee xx
Hi Gail.
Yes one day things are fine and then the next something new appears. Now I know why people say it's a long slow recovery. Maybe we are expecting too much too soon.
You have a nice weekend too
hopefully we will feel better tomorrow

Saying that Jacqui about losing so much blood and needing to build up the iron we may have lost seems to make sense. Maybe that could be a good reason for feeling so queasy?
Thanks for info x
The thing that confuses me is that I got my bloods checked before I got out of hospital and they said they were ok. I haven't bled since I left hospital so I'm wondering how I would become anaemic again.
Maybe just an off day!
x
I ve not stopped bleeding since my op, it's only slight but everyday I have something coming away. Don't know if they checked my bloods? Just keep thinking another day and I might be that much better x
Hi Gail.
I have not bled once since the op. Absolutely nothing.
This came as a big surprise to me. I had all my sanitary towels ready.
Maybe you need your bloods checked then
lee x
I bled for five weeks but only a little bit and I sometimes get dizzy spells if I bend over and get up to quick and I'm eight weeks post op
Hi Lyn
i can't believe I have had no bleeding. Not one drop
the dizzy spells are strange. I am going to drink more today and watch my diet. Take care
