I go to out patient therapy three times per week, I exercise and I warsr a brace. Today my ROM was

I do great a therapy but the next morning I'm right back where I started from. Yesterday I had my best bend yet. But as I lay here now I'm back to 60 when today I was at 80. This has been going on for two weeks now. It's frustrating like I'm not making any progress

Are you just around 4 weeks post op. ? Early days. Try to relax and not panic.

If your bend is improving when in physio, then you are progressing. Dropping back is usually becuse of swelling and inflammation in the early days.

Have a word with the Physiotherapist to see what they think. I made excess scar tissue and my bend dropped back but it did not improve even in the physiotherapy, it was stuck. There fore I had to have a manipulation at 10 weeks post op. But that is a rare thing, most people get their bend without. However, it was no big deal and did help me.

Hope you get where you want to soon, but try not to worry, it takes time.

Yes it's 4 weeks today.

Hi jacjac...I too, do all the things you are doing. I even posted a discussion called "three steps forward, one step back" because I felt like I would make progress, then go right back to where I started with pain, swelling, limited ROM. I was at the same measurement for probably 3-4 weeks. Then just yesterday...(8 weeks)...I finally improved some. Not completely, yet... I still am going to pt 3x a week. Still a brace. Still pain medication. Still worry. But it's true what everyone is saying, it takes much time,

and it's not a linear healing. It's back and forth and hard and slow. So, for me, yesterday was a good day. Now, we'll see what today holds. Hang in there.

Thanks I needed to hear that. I'm just frustrated. I made so much progress the first two weeks then I regressed and I'm stuck! My PT says I'm doing great. I do swell after therapy. Especially yesterday.

No pressure. Be patient. You're early at 4 weeks. Keep icing s its still swelling and stiffness. Take your time.

Elevate leg right up high, while lying flat on your back! And ice...

Surgery for TKR on 6/6/17. Had a manipulation on 8/4/17. Are there any suggestions for continued tightening feeling in my leg right below my knee. The knee is bending to 105. This feeling like my leg is in a blood pressure cuff is annoying and causes me to walk with a limp. Again any suggestions.

Hello again!  I remember talking with you two months ago.  Wonderful bend at 105!!!  And straight, too?  That's great.  Another TKR patient at my PT described the tightening feeling as 100 thick rubber bands all squeezing tightly around the leg.  And every few days or so, one of them comes off.  And leaves you with about 99 more to go.  Haha.  I visualize that each time I think about that pressure.  It's getting less and less.  Slowly.  😊💪

Today I go to the doctor and see the surgeon in two weeks it will be three months since I had my total knee replacement is still stiffens up on me after therapy or after sitting. I get a good bend. I'm up to 110 but still feel the rubber bands below my knee. I'm still getting The stiffness about an hour after therapy or exercising. I'm always stiff upon waking up. Just hate the rubber band feeling.
