In history class I have been doing well. But now in the last quarter, I got an F. I want to commit subefore my parents find out. I have a sister.
Don't be silly Zach. Getting an F in an exam is no reason to think of suicide. Ok so maybe your parents will be angry but that is not the end of the world is it? They will get over it and so will you. What's the worst that could happen?
Do you think you are suffering from depression? If so you need to tell your parents and/or see a school counsellor. Please don't do anything daft. You have your whole life ahead of you so look forward and concentrate on the future.
Hi Zach,
sorry to hear your feeling low but understand my friend an F in history has told you two things. 1) something in your life has recently changed causing you to fall behind on your studies 2) depending on your other grades it could be that history just ain't for you. I agree with hypercat you might want to talk to someone about your feelings but trust me when I say suicide is not an option, I have been there and ruined my life, two weeks ago I spent the week in a psychiatric hospital because I thought that way so please remember, you are strong, you have had a set back but trust it is the first of many you will have in life. Learning young to stay positive in the face of adversity will benifit you in years to come, look back on this day and say I did not quit, because I have the strength to move forward. Stay strong my friend, keep in touch and know you are not alone
David
I think your parents would be more upset that they have lost a son more than your exam result! How do you think they will feel knowing their precious son killed himself because he thought they would be angry?
How would your sister feel? They would be devastated, they would blame themselves! that's not fair on them! Your parents are proud of you regardless of an F result, you can always re sit the exam! If you take your life that's the end! Please speak to your parents, tell them you feel you have let them down and I PROMISE they would not agree! Take care
Kate.
Oh dear. It is not the end of the world ton get an F. Much worse things happen in life. I am sure your parents are not so judgemental they will think badly of you because you got a poor mark in history. Bless you for worrying so much.
You are just a bit low because of this but I don't think you have depression which is a serious illness that can go on for years. You are feeling "depressed" which is quite different.
I am sure you are good in other subjects so please don't worry. I do think you are being over sensitive, but please tell your parents as I am sure they will understand y9ou cannot always get decent marks.
Take care Zach. Don't worry so much about things.
The unkindest thing you can ever do to sister, parents and friend is to opt out. They will for the rest of their lives mourn and fell totally and utterly rejected. Please know that such hurts pass. Yes it is vry very painful at first. These setbacks will come from time to time throughout life. Each time you have to see where you are are and set out from there. My most recent setback was last Summer. At the age of 73 I had to say to myself. Here is a BIG set back. Goodbye to my old plans and way of life. Where do I go from here. Then I set out once again. That sounds calm. I was anything but calm. Ask Dudley if you do not believe me. Your History is very important to you now. When you have set out again the hurt will fade. It has happened to me often enough to know that is how it works.
With my very best for the future.
Exams/ School are just one part of your life. Its not worth ending your own life because one thing isnt going well. I got E's and D's at school and then got into one of the best art uni's in London, and am now a successful architect. School and exams can be hard but don't make them harder by being hard on yourself, i know its harder to do than say but its definately worth a try. Talk to your sister, friends and parents or whoever your comfortable with.
Hi Zach, have you spoken to your parents yet? I hope you have because as soon as you do a huge weight will be lifted from your shoulders 😊 you will feel SO much better!
Please respond so I know you are doing ok as I've been thinking about you quite a lot! take care,
Kate
