I read your email, and I have sort of been diagnoised with what you had. I don't have any lesions with fluid in them, I have bumps, itch and burn somewhat. I am using a steroid cortisone cream, it really doesnt do much for me.
Is there anything that you can think of that I can use from a health food store or over the counter drug store.
I am really uncomfortable with all this itching. Sue

I have what my GP believes to be progressing pemphigoid. He has put me on corticosteroid cream and referred me to a specialist. The cream hardly makes a difference. I get intense itching , burning and literally tear my skin out. I feat to white clothes as they soon develop blood spots. The prognosis I read on the internet is not good and I fear for my young children.
My test results showed that I had BP. I was on high amounts of steriods (60 mg a day to be exact for 4 1/2 yrs with cellcept. I was lucky to have little side effects from the steriods. The creams didn't work, justed thined out my skin. I am 31 now and have blisters every where from my legs to my head. I form blood blisters in my mouth all the time. Not so fun, I am confused because I read BP is fatal most of the time and other times it's not. The is not enough studys with young people to prove it's not fatal. The only thing i know is that I put my Lord and Savior first in my life and whatever comes my way I can face it. I give all the glory to God not the steriods and when my time is over he will come for me. The only thing that has got me through all the rough times is the all Mighty God that lives forever. I was 25 when they tested me positive for Bullous.
I'm a carer for a 38 year old disabled gentleman who after over 8 months of suffering from blisters and a year and a half of other skin problems, has recently been diagnosed with BP. When his GP initially saw the blisters she said straight away that she thought it was BP, but on referral to a dermatoligist he thought this was an unlikely diagnosis because of his age. After several biopsies and countless blood tests, which kept coming back as inconclusive, several appoinments with the dermatoligist and the attendance of a master round where he was seen by at least 20 doctors the original diagnosis was confirmed. Since then he has commenced steroid treatment, but so far as the sores clear up in one place they get worse in another. The worst of his sores tend to be around his groin, especially on his scrotum and we were wondering if anyone tends to have particular problems in this area. Thanks for any responses.
