So I've had this strange lump behind my right ear for approx. 4 1/2 years. Most of the time it doesn't bother me but maybe once a will get a super sharp pain going from the lump and down my neck. It feels like something snapping and it's gone as quickly as it comes. It's had no significant change since I first noticed it, minus what might be a small possible change in size. There is also a much smaller accompanying lump right below the first one. Is this something I should be concerned about, and if so how much?
Get some tape ...box tape maybe...and before you go to bed wrap raw bacon on it...do this 2 or three nights...should go away..it’s a home remedy...
Is this lump on the outside of the skin or does it feel like a bone protruding out of the skull?
The lump is underneath my skin. It feels like hard tissue though, not quite bone.
Nate, there are multiple reasons for a lump or lumps behind the ear and really only a doctors opinion can give you a definite diagnosis. You may need a biopsy. You dont say how big this lump is,but as there are two lumps and you are experiencing a sharp pain, you should get it checked out.
Thank you Marina, I'll definitely get it looked at by a professional. Also the larger of the two lumps is about an inch in length and the smaller one is about 1/4 inch.
Mine are like 3 in in and 1 in. Mine has no pain..just uncomfortable and St crown of my head. My Dermo said it is cutis verticis gyrata, yet my gp said cysts an anothr said lymphomas...who knows, but iv had for several yrs. Tha just seem 2 b growing more prominent. ..
You should see a doctor. Only he can find out the reason of it and help you to cure it.
