i met my surgeon for the first time yesterday and he was very happy with my overall health.  He will do the anterior approach.  He has a great reputation they say he's the. Best in Orlando Fl.  He and his office staff were great.  My surgery date is November 17.

Bet you are really looking forward to being fully mobile again, not long to wait and really glad you have good orthopedic surgeon, that can make all the difference.

That's awesome! Congratulations. You'll be about a month ahead of me. My surgery is December 19th. It definitely makes you feel more secure when you know you have a great surgeon in your corner. I'll be thinking of you and sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. Keep us posted. 🤗

Yes I feel a sense of peace now that the date is set.  I had so many questions swirling around in my head it was good to get them answered.  Im going to get a spinal with sedation.  The surgeon seemed pretty happy with that.  Plus one of my daughters works at the hospital where I am having the surgery so she will stay with me at night!  I feel very blessed.  Thanks and I will keep in touch.  Hope you are doing well!

spinal block ? You are very brave , I believe my op will be around the 9th Dec though I am on the cancellation list so could be before ...

My MIL had spinal anesthesia as well and the sedation was not too heavy and surgeon said she chatted all the way through, to be honest I think they felt like smothering her LOL she was 78 at time, she says it gave her a new lease of life once she would get out of bed, someone told her the replacement was ceramic and she was convinced it was like a china cup and would break LOL

I wish you the best of luck,.  Make sure he will give you rehab before you leave,  They sent me home on the second day and I was in severe pain.  I wish I would have spoke up more about after care than I did. Some of my friends have had THR and they went to rehab a hospital for 5-14 days.  Now they seem to rush you out so fight for yourself;.  Good luck with everything.  It just helps aot

Consider youself very lucky they sent me home the second day with no physio or anything.  I sorted it all out and am taking some physio know, but due to my knee I have to be careful.  Again I wish you the very best.
