I have been in agony since 10 oclock tonight after eatin

I have been in agony since 10 oclock tonight after eating curry and fried rice for tea. Its now 2.20am and I think the pain may be subsiding. In the last four hours I have walked the dog round the block five times and have vomited till my throat hurts. I experience lots of wind while having a gallbladder attack is this normal? My diet starts here no more fat for me. this is my second attack in a week.

thanks to everyone who has posted on this forum it has helped me through the last hour. Does anybody have any tips for coping with the pain during an attack??????? PLEASE Debbie xxx

I really sympathise! My latest attack started Saturday and is just about gone now (Wednesday), leaving me feeling really weak and feeble. My doctor gave me some really good painkillers, along with antibiotics as I had a high temperature too.

The only way I cope with the pain is with the sort of breathing they teach you when you are going to have a baby, including 'groaning' as I exhale. Admittedly it's hard to keep it up for long. But do see your doctor, and ask for the strongest painkillers he's got, and maybe a sleeping tablet to get you through the night next time it happens (always at night isn't it?).

Dawn.

i pity you i had the same problem(had op since)a curry and rice?nightmare if you are gonna eat late make sure you can work it off,i.e goto a curry house that is about a mile or two walking distance away?then have a hot black cofee&a big gulp of gavisgone, then the next day eat any thing that does not have any fat,and let it settle for a few days.for the pain i recomend that you see your g.p.and get them to subscribe some very strong pain killers i.e co-dydramol..but they take about a hour to kick in... i do realy hope you get better, and if they offer you the operation take it,i had mine 2 months ago and i feel good, but you have goto stick to a low fat diet??all the best.

try a hot water bottle lodged between your shouder blades - lie on it if you can or wedge it behind you and have another one on your tummy - it was the only relief i could get before the op....
