have been on the psych ward twice i just had a baby was going through postpartum depression was having suicidal thoughts they went away but now having nightmares sweats dizziness confused and burn sensations throughout my body told my psychtrist she just sayys ok like its nothing gaining weight plzz help should i go cold turkey cause she said she will ween me off and i will be done taking them by feb but it seems like forever
Hi I definitely wouldn't go cold turkey the safest and best way to come off Mirt is by a taper regime.
Going cold turkey could bring with it awful side effects plus a risk of relapse.
I know Feb seems way off but if you tolerate withdrawal well then it could be done quicker, you'd just have to see. Neil
Safiyyah,Definately taper.I was weaned off of Paxil and put on Mirt and Gabapetin about 8 months and I won't lie it has been hard at times but it is better than going cold turkey.Your body has to adjust and with mind altering drugs you brain has to adjust.See what your doc says and then you may have to adjust your taper.Good luck and God Bless You,Bob
Well of course you can stop them cold turkey - if of course you want to deal with very nasty side effects that take ages to go! Much better to do it slowly and surely. x
