I have been taking Citalopram for 14 weeks Is it normal to feel this way??

Hey guys,

Been taking Citalopram for 14 weeks 6 weeks on 10mg and 8 weeks 20mg, I woke up this morning with racing thoughts I couldn't keep still I found myself on auto pilot rushing around to get things done? I started gagging and getting breathless and I feel really weird, foggy head, staring into space, feel odd/strange. I had an okish sleep but i am so disheartened that I feel like this again.

i don't want to feel like this anymore how can anxiety make us feel like this I'm starting to believe it's not anxiety!  Is this ANOTHER blip or side effects?

Please help

hi i have been on citalopram 10mg for 4 weeks and have been getting headaches recently and they feel different to any other headache i have had before and i also find myself staring in to space and feel as though i am in a bubble sort of thing

Hi, 4 weeks is still early days so it's very normal to feel that way my head kind of feels pressured and weird I just thought after 14 weeks I should start to notice a difference by now. What you're experiencing is nothing to worry about 10mg Is considered a low dose maybe try speaking to your go to increase dose to 20mg?

X

yeah i just keep getting this cold feeling in around my head and keep getting a shooting pain in the left side of my head i keep worrying its a brain tumor im only 20 but i keep worrying i just want an mri but i dont think the doctors will give me 1 cause it was hard enough for them to give me an ecg when i was gettin palpatations

I totally get where you're coming from us anxiety sufferers diagnose ourselves with all kinds of illnesses I had and still have what you are experiencing. Some doctors don't understand what we go through sometimes they just give us pills. anxiety is a horrible illness but we will get through it 😊

do you ever get shooting pains in your head and are you on citalopram to?

Yes I've had them today actually, ive  been on Citalopram for 14 weeks now

It's so different from a normal headache isn't it? And mine is always on the left side when it shoots up and painkiller don't shift it but it gets rid of the tension feeling do you find painkillers dont shift the shooting pain

Yeah I totally get what you mean it's always the left side too but it does get easier pain killers are pointless to take as the pain only comes and goes quickly my headaches are more like thick pressure/tension that sometimes travels to my face

Yeah I no what you mean about the pressure I get it behind ny eyes and my nose and yeah the headache does come and go but it still like there's an ache there constantly I find it isn't as bad when im busy but worse when im relaxing

Horrible feeling and I've had the brain tumour thought LOADS of times don't worry if it gets too much go to your gp just  for reassurance that its anxietys and side effects to the meds
