Hi Claire,
I am going through the same thing at the moment only I've had an increased dose in Sertraline. The anxiety is horrendous but the side effects will eventually subside or at least that's what I'm telling myself. I have been through this before I just don't remember it being this bad. I wish you all the best, you're not alone. X
Hello Claire. Hang in there. Fluoxetine does this. It takes a little time to level you out. Do not stop taking it abruptly. Its already starting to get into your system honey. Have you tried yoga or seep breathing or meditation? Its a great medicine just let it work ok? You're not alone 😊
I've just started Zoloft and it's my first time taking it, doctor told me to start at 25mg for 2 weeks then up it to the full 50mg after.
At first I was afraid to take it due to any side effects coz I tried Paxil weeks before and the very first day taking a dose I had a panic attack.
I've been in Zoloft for 4 nights now, I can tell the difference, it seems to be helping me; I'm not as anxious as I was before taking it but I've been having nausea, diarrhea and upset stomach just as told but this morning it felt like I was about to have a panic attack, I started to feel the palpitations and then I felt cold all over.
I was able to calm myself down...but I thought about what may have brought it on, if the medication did it or it's just a spur of the moment panic attack...
I want to keep taking the dose as needed to see if it will help me but after the 2 weeks I think I'll just stick to 25mg and not take the full 50mg as told.
A friend of mine who has anxiety and panic attacks told me the lesser the dose the lesser side effects...
I hope the side effects will subside once my body gets used to the medication.
Good luck to you!
Hope you feel better!
My friend also told me she had to go through 5-6 meds to find the right one.
I'm hoping I don't have to go through that and Zoloft is the one for me.
Yes when I started Fluoxetine 20 mg the side effects were unbelievably bad one night I was up the entire night coming out of my skin, I couldn't even go to work that day, which set off more anxiety. 🙁 So my doctor told me to just take half and it's bern much better. Not perfect but tolerable enough that I'll keep on taking it so my body can get used to it. Been on it before but I dont remember the onset being this bad. May be my age now and the fact that I'm starting menopause.
Hi claire, ive been on fluxetine for 10 week. The first 3 week were hard and like u felt horrible in a morning. Stick with them, honestly they have really helped me I suffered with bad health anxiety but its defo took the edge off I can get on with my day and not worry. They take a while to work. I know u dont feel like eating as I didn't but if u take it with food in the morning I found this helped
Good luck mel x
