The nonsurgical leg hurts more
Hi smiley
It's really early days and this is quite common. You have been through a major op and they really pull you around. So don't worry too much. Keep up the exercises and only if you get swelling and pain worry- in case of blood clots. It really takes time. I am 8 months down the line and only now beginning to feel normal whatever that is!!!
Best wishes julie
I had surgery on June 2nd and my other leg is giving me a lot of trouble ! But I expected it as I knew it was going to have to be done. Date October 6th!
It is a big operation this!
Both legs feel sore and achey and I thought I was off sticks a few days ago but I'm not! I am trying to do exercises in the pool every other day..
I get so tired! Went to John Lewis yesterday ... our small local one, and was done for! For the rest of the day! Ok I'm 79 but have been pretty active up till last spring when I started with the terrible pre op pain of the right hip! It's comforting to have all your comments! Everyone is different but it's no small op!!!
Hi Merlina. I agree with you. The body is so delicately made. The impact of the surgery has affected the body unlike we suspected. I like the fact that you go to the pool. That in itself is therupurtic. Take your time to heal
Rest as you exercise and be well
.
hi smiley,
warm welcome to the hippies forum where we share our personal experiences and stories -
as you already can see, you are not alone -
you are just out of a major invasive surgery and probably are doing more than before - your body is doing a tremendous job healing and also adjusting to the new hardware -
mamy times the other hip/leg will act up so to speak, as will other parts of your body ..
when is your follow up appointment? are you still taking pain medication ?
Please come bach here and share a little bit more about yourself if you want to --
how are you getting on otherwise?
but of course, if the pain is stabbing or you have a temperature/fever or are just very worried, make an appointment with your surgeon
big warm hug
