I have hip replacement in a month and second 2 week after

Hello i am 37 turning 38 i need both hip replacmenet, 1 is going to be in march 15 and the other one will be 2 weeks after,

i am kind of helathy , eating healthy and will be loosing aroudn 20 pounds for the operation. i am martial artis will not go back to that  at least not for a year.

For the other hand should i ask for epidural,., recomendation for after the operation.

Moi,

Losing weight is a great idea, it makes things easier during recovery. Not sure if you will have enough time to lose 20 lbs though.

I had an epidural with sedation for my THR. It was great because you wake up right away not feeling groggy. I had the sedation because I did not want to hear or see anything and I didn't. I haven't heard of anyone saying anything negative about the epidural. It still takes about a week before you get all the sensation back in your op leg after surgery. I wasn't really able to lift my leg much without assistance for a week, to the day. After that, things got so much easier.

Good luck!

Wow two wks later that will be a hard recovery.epidural is done during surgery.also that give light sedation.

As for martial arts don't think that you will be able to do that in the future.

Replacement hips are not the same as your own.

They can dislocate easily at first. Some people experience that also later on..

Recovery takes time and cannot be rushed.wish you best of luck.hugs ginger

Thanks ginger yes the dr said after 2 week my first hip will be ok to take the weigth and do the second that way i will not have to had the same stop in my lifw in 3 month

Gd first

Dr told me that he is going to use a big ball like one of the biggest

I seen videos of people after 3 week walking perfectly i think depends on thw phisio

Greetings moi. Have u gone for second opinion? When u have s big one put in. That means your muscles and tendons will stretch over it.Which causes issues in lifting up the leg ect. Read the post who had one big inplant.

Also ur leg will be very swollen and very sore.

Do u have some one to help u at home? Like helping u stand from sitting putting on does an socks or getting off the toilet. Also u will have to lay flat in bed on ur back.my heart goes out to u

2 weeks between ops seem a bit of a risk.

Yes ginger my mom is clmming and my brother

And yes rhis is my 3 opinion and all

Agree big implant

Also say big implant less probability to dislocate aparently i have big bones

Also very healthy the peoblem is i got the hip rpoblem

From a martial art accidebt

Why risk u mean if everithkng goes ok i have read is a good timming to do it

So sorry to have bothered u.smile

No sooo thanks gfor ur help

My son is 37 and has arthritis in both hips. He needs a replacement but has been told he can't have it until he's 50!! He is bedridden most of the time and he feels that his life is over. Can anyone recommend a clinic where they might do a replacement for him?

Hello sorry any clinic in the USA,  i am doing mine in israel both of them with 2 weeks between one and the other,  with a dr that was the first one in making the operation assisted witha  computer.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I'm in England and my son has been told he can't have a replacement until he's 50!! I know he won't be here by then - he's already told me he can't put up with the pain much longer. But the only help he gets is even more painkillers. Don't know what we can do.

try to research do you have any kind of international insurance,

for me is costing 30,000 usa dollar each side,,, but i have a private insurance that will cover 85 percent

I'm happy your having it done in Israel instead U.K..;-)

He has got private health ins but i don't know if it will cover this because hes been having back problems for the last 19 years. I'll have to check that . Hope everything goes well for you, babe.

thanks supouse to be a group of doctors that make 600 of this a year so i guess they know

so same as me, thry it i fought about it ,,

Do you know if it's the supra path approach?

I love and stand with Israel. I would like another trip to tour the holy land.

I'm going to look into it tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed!!
