I've been depressed all my life because of this disease I haven't even started my period yet and I think it's to do with it what should I do? Thanks
You need to ask for help and keep asking if you don't think the specialist is working with you to help you manage both the depression and what is happening with your body. You need to try and get on top of it and get some control back. Start with making a phone call for an appointment with GP.
Good luck and let us know how you get on x
Selina, what are you doing for LS now and do you see a doc?
Hi Selina,
It sounds to me that you are very young. Sad enough to have to learn to cope with LS. It's not an easy thing.
I don't know enough to say that your periods may be delayed because of this problem. Though I have some theories, but they do not rest on true medical knowledge.
My thought is - perhaps find a doctor that can check your estrogen levels. There may be some answers there. It might also be a good idea to check whether your thyroid is functioning properly, or even your adreanal glands.
(the last two are from personal experience)
How old are you? I feel sorry for you cause this disease is difficult to cope with. I am depressed about it many times. Keep after your doctor or switch doctors till you get answers.
selina..Young girls who suffer with LS can recover when they go through puberty which would imply a hormonal connection.
If you are past average puberty age and have not had a period it could be helpful for you to see an endocrinologist.
