Hi, I need help in matter of opinions. I have a biopsy of 2 modules which have doubled in size. For 3 years now the endo has been monitoring the nodules. The biopsy will determine if they are cancerous or not. The endo said that either way it’s my decision to have the thyroid removed or not. She gave me a referral for a surgeon.
I fear that the nodules can become cancerous but reading this forum makes me fear my fears;( Does that make sense!
Hi Leticia,Before giving my thought, need to ask you some questions: first, do/did you suffer hyperthyroidism symptoms? Do you have GD? Are the nodules hot or cold?Now my thought: if the nodules are cancerous, maybe surgery is needed. However, if they are benign, why straightly consider thyroid removal? In this case (benign), I think there are other options than removal depending on thyroid conditions. Just my 2c.
Hi, many people have thyroid nodules without even knowing. How large are the nodules at the moment? Are they solid or fluid filled?
