I have News!

Hi everyone,

We got a call this morning to say that our wet room will be started on Friday so it looks like I`m in for a busy time :!: Everyone is mucking in to get Ann`s room and the bathroom and landing clear. Ann was meant to be staying with a friend but true to her usual style has changed her mind at the last minute and wants to stay at home :!: So it looks like I`m sleeping downstairs again :!:

Hope you have your drain sorted Lizzy and have managed to sort your finances out. How is hubby and the kids :?: Tess hope your blood tests are ok and you feel better soon.

Will check all the posts as and when I can, Take care all

Linda

Good Morning Ladies

Linda that is really good news. A lot more hard work for you, but what a difference it will make for you. I keep my fingers crossed that it all goes to plan.

Tess how are you? Hows the sores are they any better? I hope your blood tests came back OK.

I'm struggling with life at the moment. I am worrid sick about Alan he has become so down at the moment which is not surprising. Its taking me all my effort to try and keep life as normal as possible. The bills are one of my biggest problems, how am I surpose to keep the house even remotely warm on the benefits being paid. So i have invested in hot water bottles, not used them for years but my goodness last night it sounded like a heard of elephants when I said if hot water bottles are not here in 5 mins they wouldn't be done. 3 children moved so quickly to make sure they were done. At least we shouldn't get rats in the house this year as its so cold they won't even bother trying to get through from next door.

Take care everyone wishing you all a good day.

Lizzy

Hi Linda & Lizzy

Good news about the Wet Room Linda! Hope it is sorted soon so you can get back in your bed.

Lizzy must be a worry for you still and having to be strong for everyone else. Someone has to keep things ticking over. Hope you all get some relief soon.

My ulcers in my mouth are clearing up ok. Still don[t feel ok yet and just feel so drained. Not sure what is going on whether I have picked up a bug. Last time acid was bad was due to anaemia. Got lots more aches and pains. On Monday when I got out the car had this pain come down my neck into my left shoulder. Was so intense I couldn't walk for a while and then it went down my arm and made my fingers tingle.

Mentioned it to the nurse who was taking my blood and she got someone in to come and check me out. They thought it was musular but we also checking for symptons of heart trouble. Luckily as fast as it came it went away again. Was worrying at the time though.

Was going away to Mablethorpe this weekend but have had to cancel as not well enough to go and also sort everything to go.

Take care

Tess

Hi Lizzy & Linda!

Hope you are both doing ok!

Feel a lot better now and my acid trouble is getting better. Back to eating more now and more energy so on the mend. Had my results from the doctors. Iron levels and Kidneys are fine. Seems theres a problem with my thyroid levels. Got an appointment next Friday to see my gp who deals with my thyroid troubles and fibro. Have to see what needs doing.

Got an cancer check up appointment in January next year to see consultant. He wanted me to have my thyroid bloods done before I see him. My doctor normally gets in touch with him to see what he needs to do about changing my medication.

Well take care everyone!

Tess

Hi everyone,

Glad you`re feeling better Tess, I think with the Fibro. whatever else we have wrong we always feel worse than we would normally. Good you have a GP who is able and willing to help.

Well. think we are as ready as we can be for the workmen in the morning, one or two hassles but sorted now. I just don`t like things not to be normal, so the next 3/4 weeks will be hard.

Hope things are better for you Lizzy

Linda

Hi Linda

I do hope everything goes ok with the workmen today. At least you should hopefully be all cleared before Christmas. It is nice to get these things done but I know what you mean about the mess and things not being normal. Will be worth it in the end though!

Try not to let it get you too down.

Tess

Hi Tess and Linda,

Tess I'm glad you are feeling a little better and I'm sure you will feel much better when your thyroid levels are sorted. I'm sorry to hear you won't be able to go to Mablethorpe.

Linda how did the works go today? Will you have a loo to use durring the day while the works been done. Could lend you a porta loo.

Well I was back at the docs wednessday pm for a routine check up made it a week ago. I felt so ill and if it wasn't for the fact that I couldn't get any pills till I had been seen by a doctor I wouldn't have gone. I think he was quite taken aback when he saw me. I have never been to see a doc when I'm like that, I try to go when I feel up to it. Anyway it now means I have to go back within 4 weeks as he wouldn't prescribe any more meds than that. Aparently I have 3 chronic conditions that need to be put under control. Oh and he was very polite he told me it was partly to do with my age!!! I think he will take me a little more seriously now. I do feel a little better now.

Alans P45 arrived today, well when he read it, it was for 7 times the amount more than he had actually earned!!!!!! The best of it is those figures were submitted to the tax office last Monday. I hope they pay my tax credits on Monday.

Di how are you? Richard hope you are doing Ok.

Wishing everybody a good weekend.

Lizzy

Hi Tess and Lizzy,

Glad you got on ok at the docs, Lizzy, its good he`s listening to you at last. You may get some well deserved treatment now. How on earth can they send Alan a P45 for seven times the amount he actually earned :?: I hope there is something you can do about it :!: You don`t need any more hassle.

Thanks for the offer of the porta loo :!: But we are ok, thanks, our only loo is downstairs and we shall have the luxury of a second one upstairs when the works are finished smile I hardly dare say this, but today went better than I had dared hope. The two workman are fantastic, pleasant, funny and very considerate :!: Could it be something will go right for us at long long last :?: On the down side Ray`s chest has flared up so looks like a trip to docs net week. Oh well can`t have everything.

Tess hope your weekend is ok, despite not being away. Weather doesn`t sound very good, so maybe that`s some consolation :!: Hope you`re feeling better now.

Like, Lizzy, I hope Di and everyone else is ok

Linda

Hi Linda, Lizzy & All

Had Sophie yesterday all day for my daughter. She is a little ray of sunshine when it is miserable outside. She always cheers me up if feeling a bit down. She was trying to run me over with the dolls pushchair yesterday and luckily she hasn't learnt how to go round corners yet lol. She was giggling away as we were playing as she thought it was funny. She was also leaning against the cardboard box with toys in and fell in it and just sat there with a smile on her face. Stewart got his camera and took a picture of her.

Lizzy was good you got on ok at the doctors. Like Linda said hopefully they will take you more seriously and sort out all your problems. Sometimes it does us good to go when we are feeling not so well. Normally we all wait until we feel better because we don't feel like making the effort when we are not well to go see the doctor.

Did Alan get his P45 problem sorted out?

Linda its good to hear the workmen are being kind and considerate. Hope all is still going well with the alterations. How is Ray's chest now did you get him to a doctor?

I am heaps better now but feel quite tired so hopefully that might have something to do with my thyroid problem. Going to see doctor on Friday and get it sorted. Had a quiet weekend and with the weather like it was probably was a good idea we didn't go away.

Going shopping with my daughter Claire tomorrow to Hampton in Peterborough. Only need a few bits and probably treat myself to something new to wear. Also want to get a few christmas bits as well.

Well take care everyone!

Di hope you are doing ok and Richard!

Hi Everyone!

How are you all! What a day had an appointment with dr about thyroid results today but thought it was at 10.10. Got there and it was 9.10 so missed it. The receptionist was really nice and could only get me in at 5.10pm. So waited all day to go on edge as always get nervouse before I go. I walked all the way there and when I got to the door it was in darkness and they had a power cut so no seeing the doctor. Got to wait until Monday now to ring up and get another appointment. The doctor I see is only in on a Thursday or Friday so have to wait until end of week. Did say I could see someone else but you know what its like its best to see the same doctor for on going conditions. Was so frustrated and felt like crying. I know it sounds silly but had got myself all calm to go and then never saw the doctor.

Stu on nights for next three nights so feeling sorry for myself. On the good side we did go to the bed shop and ordered a memory foam mattress for our bed and hopefully should be here next week. At least I shall hopefully get some better sleep lol.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Take care

Tess

!

Hi Tess,

Sorry you missed your app. and are feeling down. It`s understandable you must be feeling very frustrated sad It`s a shame Stu is on nights and you`re on your own, things always feel worse if you have no-one to chat things over with :!: I understand what you mean about seeing the same doctor though, I hate it if I can`t see my own doctor. It`s stupid I know but just don`t feel comfortable with someone different, partly i think because you have to fill them in with past details etc and then the app is nearly over before you`ve actually got around to why you`ve really come to see them. Hope you begin to feel better soon.

I`m feeling really tired, was hoping i would cope with all the mess etc but only one week in and it`s getting me down sad Been to Mum`s today for the second time this week so that hasn`t helped, Chris was home with the builders and was really good, but it`s the constant dust that seems to have got into every room that`s getting me down. Even the kitchen worktops needed wiping down before i could get us something to eat sad I keep telling myself the end result will be worth it, but it takes me so long to do things i worry about how long it will take me to get sorted when they`ve finished.

Hope things are improving for you too Lizzy.

Talk again soon Tess,

Linda

Hi Tess and Linda,

I hope you are both well.

Just poped on to see what was new. Will be back later had a dreadful week.

Take care all.

Lizzy

Hi Linda & Lizzy

The dust is the worse thing when you have the builders in and does get everywhere. I do feel for you but try and hang in there as sure when it is all done you will be ok. How is your mum? You could have done without having to go over twice in one week.

I am going to ring the surgery tomorrow and see when I an get an appointment with the gp.

Been busy today and made my Christmas Cake! Hope it turns out ok like it did last year. Got another two and half hours to go yet.

My daughter Claire made hers on Friday! Feeling really tired too today!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Tess x x

Hii Everyone!

Has a diaster with my Christmas Cake yesterday didn't turn out as it should. Oh well shall try again.

Had better day today and did get to see my doctor this morning. My thyroid levels were ok so no need to change my tablets. Did say that

my iron stored level was low so wants me to go on iron tabs for a 4 weeks. Got to go back and bloods done again in about 5 weeks time for thyroid and iron. Was angry because when I asked the receptionist for my results was told iron levels were ok. Thats twice this has happened now. I did think I could be anaemic but when they say they are ok you believe them. Think I shall always query them now.

How is everyone else. We had got rain here again now. Was a nice morning earlier.

Tess

Hi Tess and Linda

I hope you are both well.

Linda how are the alterations going? Its awful the mess and dust just gets everywhere. Just keep thinking how much better life will be when its completed. I hope you don't have to make too many journeys to your mums this week. You must find it really exhausting on top of everything else.

Tess sorry to hear about your xmas cake. I've decided not to cook one this year I haven't got the energy. I do love the smell of the cooking xmas cake. The kids will be dissapointed. I have the same problem with some of my blood results and I now give the nurse the 3rd degree when I ring up for them. Some more iron will make you feel better.

I've been to endo today not sure what to make of it. Hes now saying I have a goiter strange as no sign of one last time. Anyway hes now saying bloods are in normal range (on the minimum/maximum line) so I should be feeling fine so he wants a scan and to just moniter me for the next 6 months!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure I can make 6 months obviously its not normal for me, but that wasn't a problem for him because hes not living with it.

I wonder what my doc will make of that? I hope he gives me more support this time, he must be getting as fed up as I am.

Lizzy

Hi Lizzy and Tess,

Sorry your cake didn`t turn out too well, Tess, hope the next one is ok. Like Lizzy I`m not making one this year, partly because of the fatigue and partly due to the building work, I`m not sure it would taste so good with dust as an ingredient  Hope the iron works for you and you feel better soon. Sometimes these nurses don`t seem to know how to read blood test results, and yet, Ann who is only a play specialist can tell you what they all mean :!: Your daughter probably could too.

Lizzy, I`m always argueing with the docs about my thyroid, I`m sure that`s half of my problem. There`s quite a lot about thyroid levels on the internet and basically they should fine tune them to suit us as individuals, not look at what is considered normal and say there is no change needed in meds :!: Hope you get sorted soon.

Well, building work doing ok, Ann should be able to start putting her bedroom back to rights tomorrow night, just the skirting board and door to be put on tomorrow. We might all get back to sleeping in our own beds then :!: Still tired out but that`s to be expected I suppose. Will be a while before everything is finished and back to normal, so trying to do the famous pacing thing, Lizzy :!:

Well now the builders have left I guess I should cook some tea, take care all

Linda

Hi Linda & Lizzy!

Thanks I hope the iron makes me feel not so tired as well. I do it wasn't just to feeling tired with the fibro! The doctor did say I know my own body lol! Its good when they listen to you. It will be the third Christmas I have been on iron tabs.

Lizzy is a goiter a swelling on the thyroid gland and makes the neck look swollen at the front. Have read about it as my neighbour had one. Its alright the saying monitor you for six months but they don't have to put up with it. I hope your doctor gives you the support you need.

Linda I bet you are so looking forward to all the work done and able to get into your own bed. You have to much going on to think about making a christmas cake. I am going to give it another try on Friday when I have more time. I had Sophie yesterday and she likes looking at your tummy. She lifted my top to look at my tummy and started blowing raspberries on it. It was so funny and tickled and made me laugh. She is such a funny little girl and always make me smile. Got Molly's birthday coming up on 6th December. She is so good with Sophie and will sit down with her and read her a story. Hoping to see her tonight after school. Having my hair done this afternoon another body perm so have to see what the weather does as not supposed to get wet or wash for two days lol.

We are busy decorating as well at the moment. We have been in our house for 18 years and haven't decorated the toilet. We have separate toilet from bathroom. It was so good to get the old paper off but now we are going to get it decorated before Christmas. Stewart is also changing what was the girls bedroom. We had three tier beds that he made in there and now going to make the frame for a fold down double bed. I a lucky he is so good with making things with wood. Want to use it as a guest room. There will be room for fold down double bed and a fold down single bed as the biggest bedroom in the house. So like you I have some mess about and dust about now. Will be worth it in the end though when my son and his fiancee come to stay. No sleeping on air beds then.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Tess

Good Morning Linda and Tess

I hope life has been treating you well.

Linda hows the alterations going ? I hope you are managing to pace yourself or have yo decided to just go for it and clean up and worry about the pain later.

Tess yes its a swelling on my neck which you can't see and he mumbled something about nodules as well so they are going to scan it. He also went on about me being Vit D deficient which i new nothing about, but apparently blood tests last April showed it, he wanted to know why i hadn't been treated. So I have asked my doc to ring rheumi to see why they didn't tell me and why they decided not to treat.!!!!!How did the xmas cake go? I wish Molly a happy birthday. Do you get on with iron tablets I found up to a certain level they made me very constipated and then when they upped them even further they had the opposite effect which was really bad.

I'm having a problem I just can't get motivated for xmas, I know the kids will be very upset if I don't get sorted but the depression has kicked in big time and am just about coping with life without involving xmas as well. I am going to have to make a really big effort and pull myself together and get sorted, I hate shopping at the best of times.

Take care and wishing you both a good weekend.

Lizzy

Hi Lizzy and Tess,

Hope you got your cake sorted Tess, and the bedroom is going ok. How are you feeling now, has the iron kicked in yet?

Lizzy, I know just what you mean about not getting motivated and depression kicking in. It just doesn`t seem like Christmas and with the state the house is in I just can`t be bothered sad How is your hubby? Any news on the job front? Christmas must just seem like an extra burden for you both.

On top of everything else, my oldest friend died last week, I got a call yesterday. Hadn`t seen her for a while as we live miles apart now, but kept in touch via e-mail, phone etc. It just seems to have been the straw that broke the camel`s back and I`ve had no interest in anything since.

On the plus side the work is going well, and I can`t complain about the workmen or anything, I just don`t cope when things are upside down and eventually it all gets too much.

Hope you are both doing ok today

Linda, in a very wet and dismal Cambridge!

Hi Linda and Tess

Linda I am very sorry to hear about your friend, I'm not surprised it has upset you. You have had so much to contend with these last few months. I'm glad the alterations are coming along well. Sending you gentle huggs. Do you have a finish date yet?

Alan seems a lot more relaxed and I think the 10mg of amitryptaline has kicked in at long last, the only problem is the doc said he could only have a months supply so I am now trying to convince him to go back and get some more. As for jobs no sign of one at the moment its going to be difficult when hes been sacked. He has put in an apeal but not heard anything yet. He has also sent all the stuff to a solicitor to see if they will take the case on as we are insured for legal exspenses on our household insurance.

Tess how are you have you managed to make that cake again? What a time to start doing the decorating!!! I hope the bed making goes well. My inlaws have a 3 teir bunk beds for when our kids go to stay. They love them the only problem now is they are all taller than us so bang there heads quite often. I hope the perm went well. Hows the iron tablets going?

I'm not so good the depression is settleing in and all my aches and pains are back. The anxiety keeps coming and going, I'm panicing because I don't want to deal with xmas but know I have got to. Agreed to go to inlaws as I just couldn't face entertaining this year, but I also don't want to go as I have got to be socialable. Money is also tight so I am worrying about that which isn't helping, at least we are not in debt apart from our mortgage. Then on top of that I feel my space has been invaded, don't get me wrong I do love Alan very very much, but I am not use to having him around all day every day and its begining to rub me up the wrong way, hes been like a lost dog found. Life is becoming quite an effort and what upsets me most is that I seem to be gripped by this mental illness which doesn't want to go away, for over 2 years now. I wish I new how to get back to the old me living life with fun and hardly a care in the world and hardly any fear.

Take care.

Lizzy
