Recently I have noticed that, occasionally, throughout the day I get a fluttering/ twitching like feeling from my left chest and sternum area. I also get some fluttering/ twitching feelings in my leg and some fluttering feeling in my stomach and the side of my ribs. Additionally, I feel a strong pulse in my neck when I also have occasional strong heartbeats. A couple of days ago, for a whole day, I got this weird vibration feeling in the area at the back of the knee. All these small sensations occur at least once a day and it always grabs my attention and makes me a tad anxious, this has been happening for the past two weeks. Should I be concerned or could my anxiety be making me worry for no reason like usual...?
i’m not too concerned and I’ll tell you why. When I was in my 20s the same thing happened to me. I had muscle twitches, fluttering feeling all over, I had them in my arms, legs, even on my eyelid I also had tingling in my arms and legs, floaters in my eyes, weird feeling in my head, and a strong pulse feeling . I thought I had a horrible disease and that was at the time when nobody was using the Internet. So you can imagine how I felt like the only person in the world with this. this happened for quite a while on and off.
the neurologist ran some tests and bloodwork and everything came out perfectly normal. What had happened was the long-term stress and anxiety produced these symptoms. The body can only take so much anxiety and stress before it has what I call a little break down and you get symptoms. It’s like the straw that broke the camels back. Your body is saying enough is enough .
So it’s really not the symptoms that are the problem but it’s the long-term stress and anxiety that is the problem and it causes the symptoms .
just remember that any symptoms related to stress rings already will not hurt you. I know how weird and scary they can feel.
I do always tell people when you get any new symptoms go have a check up with your doctor for your peace of mind. When everything comes out normal then you know it’s stress and anxiety.
im now in my 50s and the reason I tell you that is so that you know that none of those symptoms hurt me at all. I am doing very well. if I become really anxious I might feel a muscle twitch here or there but I know that it’s nothing bad. So I just ignore it.
the Think that would help you would be to get your anxiety managed better so you don’t have the symptoms. Have you ever considered speaking with a counselor? That helped me a lot because this is difficult to do alone. In the meantime you can practice anxiety reduction with deep breathing methods or anxiety meditations you can find on YouTube
. I do hope you feel better soon. You are going to be OK! feel free to message me anytime!
Have them when I’m under alot of stress and have anxiety.
